QUOTE(Joshua_0718 @ Feb 6 2009, 09:46 PM) I Do you think Singaporean willing to do low wages work? Not many I could tell you. Under normal circumstances, I have to agree with you that they won't. But there is no guarantee what will happen if situation turns into extreme, i.e. survive by drinking plant water vs accept low pay. But then if this kind of thing really happens, I guess not much people will be interesting to stay or to work in SG anymore (providing that there are still better option for foreigner).

As for the mobile broadband, a friend of mine who's using both SingTel and StarHub told me that, each has it's own hour when performance will drop to bottom. So I guess each provider got their cons and pros

Back to end of last year, I set my target to get a new job by end of Feb, but now Apr is reaching soon. Really feel frustrated... (yeah I know the economy is in no good) I know there will be new opportunity (job) to Asia countries, but they seem mostly fall in Malaysia, not SG. Should I ? QUOTE(noisyarsenic @ Apr 18 2009, 09:43 PM) Hi, I'm thinking of applying for singapore PR status. Do anyone know where can translate my documents (e.g birth cert, BEM cert) to english? I've tried to look for infos regarding the so called "official translator" in the net but to no avail . I didn't bother to translate my doc (like birth cert, SPM cert) when I applied (since Bahasa Malay is SG's national language). Btw what is BEM cert?

QUOTE(noisyarsenic @ Apr 19 2009, 11:30 AM) Thanks for the clarification. In that case, I'll just submit the documents in Malays then, can save me translation $$ . BEM cert is the cert given by Board of Engineers Malaysia to engineer who work in malaysia. Engineers in malaysia are obligated to register to the board to legally practice engineering in malaysia. I would suggest you to translate your BEM cert then. To Singapore, Malaysian's birth cert and SPM cert are just too common. This post has been edited by Find The Way: Apr 21 2009, 04:46 PM

QUOTE(noisyarsenic @ Apr 21 2009, 11:20 PM) oh...so should I just translate the BEM cert only and not the birth cert and spm cert? I wonder will they accept it if i submit the BEM cert in Malay because i'm hopping that it can improve the odd of my application getting approved. Anyway, I've found someone who might able to help me with the translation. Do you think it's safe to leave the original document to the folks at translation.com.sg? Of course if want to play safe the best option would be translate all doc from Malay into English. Btw, personally I will never leave original copy of important doc to other people.
