did u realize that working 12hours for a long period is bad for your body & health ? The body will take a beating and you will not notice it now but when you get older it will get you. Money is one thing but health is another. Just give it some thought dude.

staying in Jb is definitely a hassle if you are working office hour. Imagine spending 2-3 hours each day just on traveling alone.
*
lol i dont mind if i'm really earning like 4-5k a month. but the truth is, i'm not even earning half of it. web designer is not being appreciate in singapore especially those who work in design / advertising agency. 12 hours a day is common. if can have 10 hours working life, happiness biggrin.gif (but pay still sux regardless u have diploma or degree or nothing)

I frankly speaking can feel it is really PHYSICAL and MENTAL torture. I once came back from Penang and reach JB kastam at around 5:30AM, oh my gosh, it is jam like crazy. I pity those people. Somemore stress when they are waiting for the bus but fail to arrive yet.  sweat.gif
*
erm...i dont think that way, cos whenever i take the bus and sit down, i felt asleep hahahhah. when reach jb checkpoint, i wake up again. after i pass through singapore checkpoint, usually i took SJE so i can sleep all the way to bugis queen street.

i won't even do 12 hours for 4-5k a month. The last time I did 12hours was probably a couple of years back for 1 1/2 months when there's some urgent job to be done. If i'm not mistaken it was something closed to 15k per month.

nice pay u have, mind to share what position and field that you are working in? ur 1 month salary > my half year hardwork hahahah

Hi, if got offer a job working at singapore with reason "Travel" up to 1 month, will this offense the labour law of Singapore?
*
without a work permit, a foreigner working in singapore is illegal. the reason of "travel" is because u only can stay in singapore for ~1-2 months with the social pass (the white card u get when u enter singapore). if there is no official employment confirmation and the company did not apply work permit for you, please beware that you can be send back to malaysia and get banned from entering singapore for few years (and bad record).

as i heard last time (~3 years ago) as long as the company apply the work permit through online or post, the worker are allow to work in the company for a month while waiting for the application to be approve. i'm not sure this is really the case or not.

there are a lot of news where company hire the person without apply the work permit, then force the employee to go back without paying their salary. if u have doubts can check with the company smile.gif.

Hi, what is common benefits that ones should have when it comes to job finding in SG? Some I've heard, they provide living allowance, phone allowance and etc. If let's say they didnt have such benefits, should I count the amount of rent & etc into my expected salary? TQ
*
for my job i only have 14 days annual leave, taxi claim (if OT till after 9pm), and MC claim (max $50 a month). for your personal reference u should consider all ur expenses and fight for the salary u want.

(you know rush hour in mrt pretty dangerous for mums to be).

One question,
is it advisable to become a PR??
*
if u love singapore, why not? after getting PR then u can enjoy CPF, HDB Flat, and higher chance to get a job biggrin.gif.

QUOTE(eric84cool @ May 10 2009, 10:21 PM)
Iszit possible for Malaysian guy to tackle Singaporean girl??? cool2.gif
*
why not? not everyone in singapore is rich and there are rich malaysian guys that work in singapore also. as some member mentioned some singapore guys can be quite nerdy. btw my dad is a malaysian and my mom is a singaporean biggrin.gif she follow my dad to ipoh after marriage.

but reality telling us that... u need a lot of $$ bullets to tackle singapore girl. i met a lot of girls that demand for a lot of things even for themselve and they complain why they don't have bf. oh well, different culture.

Not necessary to provide that, my bf's application went in without the testimonial.
*
QUOTE(hkhk @ May 20 2009, 10:02 AM)
NO testimonial is required. If your employer didn't fill in the Annex-A, you will need to fill in yourself and write a letter to explain why the employer didn't fill in the form. Make a copies for the letter together with all those form.

This is what I do when I apply for PR..
*
thanks a lot, it is so hard to reach the service agent of ICA with hot line and i couldnt get my previous employer sad.gif. i guess i'll proceed without that. my current employer filled in the Annex-A, will it be better if i have testimonial from him? or Annex-A is enough?

Regarding the pay slip and income tax notice of assessment, i just received the income tax notice of assessment (1st time after work in SG for 3 years), since i only have 1 should i bring the IRA8 form (given by my previous company and current company years ago) to prove my income for previous years?
