I know ppl in 6months can apply for PR. But that was permanent staff and not on contract basis.

I waiting for 1 year to pass b4 applying for PR since my chance would be better. I heard that if you apply too soon, they will remember you and make it tougher for you to apply for PR.
*
Hmm, even for permanent staff they also need to have EP right..

Depend on your company. What is the agent doing there? If he the boss?

For my company, I am on 2 years contract. They require US to get PR within 6 months. I waited for my 1st month salary.. Then I apply. get the approval letter after 3months. My Company HR also don wan to fill in the ANNEX A. Then when I apply for the PR. I need to fill in the Annex myself, and write a letter to justify why I can't provide the Annex A. I remember my letter is just a few sentences.

Depend on your Education qualification and salary also.. With BSc and above will be easier.

If your EP is very short... unlikely you will get it.. Coz you need your company to provide a letter that you still working with  the same company when u apply.
*
So it is eligible to apply if my EP is lesser than 6 months? for Annex A i know is not mandatory, but it will help ica to access our application expeditiously, donno why they don't wan fill up for me.

And any idea if i can apply without the testimonial?

Heard my friend said that after you become PR you cannot convert your driving license with just paper test? Have to take the practical driving test instead. Is this true?
*
What he said is wrong.. I just converted my driving license . WE just need to take the Basic Theory Test. And then you can submit the application. Provided your license still valid and u need to get an extract from JPJ.

After conversion, your will not be able to renew your Malaysian License.

U mean your 1st EP is less than 6 month ? can't be so short rite? If u had worked for 6 month and the EP has 6 month left, then is Possible.

Mine is without testimonial, just write a letter to justify.

If u work at company A when U apply for PR, U need to ask company A to give U a letter when U get the PR status. I dono if change company can or not lo..

Your chances of getting EP is much better if your permanent staff rather then EP on contract basis. Since on contract basis makes you look desperate that you want PR so fast. Something MOM frowns upon i heard since many ppl want 2 take advantage of PR status.

Its always better if you got company testimonial to back up your application for PR but doing on your own is also fine. But doing it on your own while on a contract, well u just be inside the shoes of the MOM officer, most probably wont let u get PR since you on contract basis. Somemore got more deserving ppl who work longer and contributed more to singapore, those are the ones who they will likely get PR priority.

Pure hogwash. Where the heck did you hear that from?

PR approvals are considered on a case-by-case basis. The rule of thumb for the minimum period for being employed in Singapore before applying for a PR in that country is six months but it is certainly not carved in stone. There are many, especially those from the higher ranks of corporate management who have secured their PRs in less time than that.

I m one of those who get PR in less than 6 months. Or should I say all research staff without PhD in my company was forced to get PR within 6 months. (I lose my job offer if I ICA don approved my PR)..

So it depend on many things:
Education, salary, experience, ages, nationalities, your company and etc...

Generally Young Malaysian with Bachelor degree working in good company can get the PR easily.

How fast you get your PR also depends on your EP (Employment Pass) category (not sure if it's changed already).

I remember EPs used to have different categories for different salary levels. The holders of the highest EPs (IIRC, S$7K and above) usually get their PRs approved very quick, especially if they are from Malaysia (easier for ICA to verify your schooling & police check etc, I guess). The quickest case I know of is 3 months (EP issued in Feb, IC issued in May) for a single early 30s Malaysian male postgrad with company/MNC support letter.

The PR approval is depends a lot on the officer who processing your application. My wife get approval in less than 1 month after submit, mine get approval only on 6 month(very long for msian), I have call several times to ICA and answer get is pending status( which mean haven't start process at all).

Yeah, you cannot withdraw the CPF even after you decide to go back to msia. Just same like EPF.
