As for the ornate parts, I'll say it's going to be molded separately, although the prototype pictures are quite uncertain about that. The MG Musha has separate parts for the red ribbons instead of using stickers, and I don't think Bandai would want to use stickers for so many obvious parts in the Sinanju... Imagine and entire chest full or stickers... Come on, it's an MG !!

As for why they make amuro pilot a nasty looking MS like this rather a nice looking Gundam...... the director straight answer: "If the last main character of Gundam pilots another shiny looking Gundam, it will out shined the current one!" Tat why they minimize Amuro action so as to not spoil the story. But guess Seed Destiny did not do so.
