i stay at 10th floor, very rare to find mosquitoes. smile.gif I heard last time, above 8 floors (reflecting to 10 feet high each level) then will b less insects (including mosquitoes). another study abt the air quality stated that air pollution is reduced after 10th floor. maybe you can consider 10th floor above.

if your unit is near to roadside (especially highway) then choose lower level, cos will be terrible noisy. study said that if near roadside, higher level can more noise. I'm working at level 19th now. Terrible noisy. If you are away from roadside, then choose higher level, at least 12th floor. if not, you will hear ppl on ground chatting when u r near to balcony or windows. haa... it is truth...

the house that i book now is 20th floor. wink.gif

The mosquito is a common flying insect that is found around the world. There are about 2,800 different species of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes can fly about 1 to 1.5 miles per hour (1,6-2,4 km/hour).

talk about fast...

Added on January 23, 2009, 3:58 pmCulex pipiens, AKA the northern house mosquito.

this can fly as high as they want, but they become slower the higher they go....

9th floor. Windy. Mosquito = Positive

Mosquito netting is good, but slows down air circulation, more so when it's dusty.

Electric mosquito mat/liquid not so effective.
I recently tried ANTIMOS. Quite good. Put near fan to 'spread' out the smell.

just look in the property supplement in the star, they advertise regularly, its just mosquito netting that has magnetic backing, so you can install with no screws/glue onto any aluminium frame door/window

i use it on my patio door, very effective, but yes it does cut down airflow abit...but i rather abit stuffy then get dengue

I sleep in mosquito net and bring in 1 of this to make sure that any "infiltrators" are zapped to death. brows.gif brows.gif

use cockroach killer spray. very effective.
use it couple of times, no ants will dare enter your unit.

I intend to purchase a condominium soon and need ur advise.
Being exposed to only landed properties, i'm unsure what level/floor i need to be on to avoid mozzies.
Been hearing differing views from my frens...... some say 7th floor is good enuff while some say 15th floor to be sure.

Condo dwellers.... your advice please!

Good! rclxms.gif Latest important factor to look out for before buying any condo. Check out if there is any mosquito!!

Cockroach killer spray is very poisonous..............

Any other ways to get rid of the ants without using such poisonous stuff?

When i live in the 3rd floor of the apartment, no mosquito hanging around, but a lot of ants. doh.gif
