Starting a PVC-collecting hobby while living in Japan? LOL good luck and godspeed XD I notice amiami.com has v competitive prices, not sure if they're cheaper than brick and mortar shops though. amazon.jp sometimes has crazy deals too. Been tempted to buy off amazon but after calculating the cost of custom ordering it doesn't work out all that cheaply once I factor in the commission fees, postage etc.
Her pose is pretty refreshing, sometimes simple works best. The main pull for me was her kimono, which makes it kind of ironic that I cancelled her bc of the face since there was nothing wrong with her kimono X'D
LOL yeah, tell me about it. My wallet weeps with me.
I noticed buying them online is slightly cheaper for some figures and amazon provides free shipping throughout Japan with anything above ¥1,500. I should get mine there sometime. I've never actually bought figures online before, wonder how that'll work out.
Yeah, the kimono+katana combination did it for me. Plus i'm a TYPE-MOON fan.

Add to that... Amiami charge 500 yen for every shipping (throughout Japan)... Even if you order 100 figures, they, by right should charge you only 500 yen. Another 200 yen for COD
Amazon offers free shipping in Japan (for over 1500 yen), and 200 yen for COD.
Amiami have more or less fixed price with 15 to 25% discounts off retail (inclusive tax). Amazon's price is more erratic, 0% to 20% (for unreleased figures). Prices for released figures (on Amazon) can skyrocket if it is popular, and drop if it is not. Both Amiami and Amazon can have deep cuts/promotional discounts 50 to 60 to 80% for older figures...
15% discount is kind of normal or on the down side.... Big retail stores like Biccamera or Yodobashi you can get about 19% discount (10% points upon discounted 10% retail price). Revoltechs are much cheaper in the big retails ... up to more than 30%. Smaller places like Melon/Toranoana/Mandrake you can score big in discounts, 2 to 3 months old figure (not so on newly released figures), some have 40 to 50% discounts ... or, 5 to 8k yen figures available at 1 to 2k yen...
There are plenty stores in Akihabara where bargains could be had...
Now and then, Biccamera and Yodobashi increase their points to 15 or 20% (from 10%), so you will get bigger discounts...
Never tried amiami but yeah cheap shipping sure is great. Woww that's a lot of discounts. I should really consider buying them online now.
Oo haven't been to bic camera in ages. Still have lots of points in my point card when i bought my phone there. I didn't know they sold figures at Yodobashi lol.. I shall check it out the next time i go. I usually just frequent Melon books, Animate, Gamers and Mandarake. Even then it's just buying manga or accessories. Resisted the temptation... until now lol
Anyway thanks for your post. Very informational.
