Maybe that's because we're still not working professionals in AMERIKKA or something. I doubt most of the guys there would be so willing to spend on these silly animu shits if they're expected to pay $180~250 for each of them, instead of the current $50~70 (lol currency conversion).

Much, much cheaper than over here. Not to mention they:re having discounts and sales almost all the time, to make more space for newer products (see the mad Gundam model kit sales in hlj? yeah, same thing)

edit: also, think of it this way, 100yen's value is worth RM1 over there (a bottle of 300ml mineral water, 100yen, a can of cola, 130yen or so), and the minimum wage is around 700~800yen per hour. So yeah, you do the maths.
