It depend... Usually 1month-2month
If 1month mean its very near ady
It all depend on the scorpling diet, humidity, etc

Izit me or every1 else.... I cant open bigger resolution pic of it....
Anw, how can we tell its healthy o not by pic = =
But judging from tat pic, i would say, its not in a good environment
Cause ur substrate looks dry... Afs from tropical forest
They need damp substrate...

Ok i can see now.....
The soil looks TERRIBLE!
Change it to coco fiber, u can buy it in Jusco or carefour in the section where they sell gardening stuff...
They come from tropical forest, their soil need2 be damp to stimulate their natural habitat
And, how long have u been keeping it?
It looks gravid to me...... Looks like my female before giving birth...

Just got myself a scorpion today. I think its female ASF from the pincers.  I just put some small tree branch inside.  Took it out now..mites are a real problem? Guess have to boil it first.  What about the soil? Need to boil also?
*
U dun boil the soil, u bake them in microwave (Do it while ur mom nt at home LOL)
But i myself din bake it cause the coco fiber i got contain no mites (Couldnt be sure bout it but at least i din c any till nw)

That is not a suitable environment junshern222.
If that is AFS that u own, probably u will need soil that can absorb water well and can hold the moisture
U can either use Coco Fiber (recommended) or Peat Moss (can mix a lil bit wif coco fiber if u wan).
Using random soil will make your scorps stress out due to their original habitat.
Pot as shelther is good, but the way u set the pot won't make a good hide for your scorp..
Set the pot like a cave ( dark n deep) so that your scorp will be more happy to burrow or rest there during day.
The dinosaur there is quite good...keep up the good work. Let your scorp fight wif that toy....GRAWLLLL!!!
Eh, Ryo...u fed your scorpling wif crickets?

Crickets so big how to feed them? or u just feed them drumstix?

i just bough 1 buck of crickets...hahaa, nw they chirping happily in the enclosure..

I let them eat oatmeal..as your mealworm did...and your mealworms all growing fatter and fatter.
*
Doubt tat bold statement, scorp like2 squeeze into tiny crack so i assume they do well in the hide he set
Anw i teach him most of the thing in msn ady
He juz need sometime2 learn hw2 use forum function
Oh ya i feed cricket, choose those small 1 lo... Remove back leg and crush the neck once, they can bite...

Hi everyone....got some new scorpion from ryo..nice... by the way..... i put some meal worms in cant find their body....and 2 of my scorpy look abit fat..so i assume they eaten... but not really sure..... another 3 looks thin and didn eat...mealworm already die will they eat? and i found 1 meal worm dig in the soil leaving his ass out...dead also....

By the way how can u really tell if they eat or not? cant seem them eat  sad.gif though
*
Tats y i dun keep them all in same tank....
Wat u can do is like TAG suggested, put in front them...
They'll take dead prey anw

QUOTE(Jamien @ Sep 9 2008, 01:48 AM)
lol, tag, that's what I do. crush the head, cut in half, stuff the mealie with juicy end under Timmy's mouth parts. Then he clips on both half mealie and eats it like ice cream. biggrin.gif

BTW, ryo, Timmy has more white than grey. I haven't been feeding him more than twice a week. Is it normal? Cuz my Clip had his white sides expanded according to how much it eats.

blush.gif I decided to get another tool box today for Timmy. Then I realized that I left my wallet in my bag in the car. biggrin.gif
*
I guess i knw wat u mean...
It'd been refusing food? If yes, be prepare....

vmad.gif If I die of heart attack I will haunt you from my grave.  tongue.gif

Anyway, isn't it too soon for Timmy to molt? O, Sammy burrows all the time but not really Timmy. Sammy is also a little skinnier than Timmy since it eats less.
*
They molt after 1-2months when they turned to 2instar
They all turned to 2instar at 9september.....
If they got good diet and good environment, maybe....
1 of my buyer scorpling ady start refusing food

Btw Dennis, i also wan to see ghost
So.... Yes, it will die =(

sure, will do so.

Btw, i saw most of the keepers using peat moss as substrate, izzit possible to use spagnum moss ?
Does it also need a thick layer of substrate for its convenience to molt ?
*
I would recommend using coco fiber for AFS as coco fiber hold moisture very well, u dun need2 spray water too often
If nt mistaken peat moss can harvest mites/bacteria (Do correct me if im wrong)
AFS will burrow so u may add the substrate around 3-4inch like i do
