New Xbox ExperienceArrives November 19 http://games.gearlive.com/playfeed/article...rs-november-19/ INSTALL TO --> Microsoft Says: Install Your Xbox 360 Games to Hard Drivehttp://blog.wired.com/games/2008/07/microsoft-says.html"LOS ANGELES -- Does your Xbox 360 hard drive just have too much free space on it? How about installing some of your games directly to the drive? At a small media briefing immediately following their E3 press conference Monday, Microsoft execs said that one of the new features of their new Xbox 360 user interface would be the ability to install any Xbox 360 disc-based game to your console's hard drive. This would result in faster loading times and cooler systems, Microsoft said, because the game disc won't have to be constantly spinning. However, users will still have to have the game disc in their Xbox 360 if they want to run the game. The games will be displayed in the console's new "Games" channel, shown above. The update will be released this fall." You may have heard about it, but this deserves special attention. Microsoft is silently bringing the solution to multiple disc issue to all Xbox 360™ gamers worldwide. It could be THE solution to multiple disc games for the Xbox 360™... In fact, the Fall update will have this feature for the console. Not sure you can install for all games, but its just great news and a wonderful idea. However, one issue remains - the price of the 120Gb hard drive is fairly expensive. And for those with a 20Gb hard drive might just be thinking of getting the larger capacity hard drive... if u have official Memory Card or official transfer cable, then use them
copying using pc-sata also OK, but certain files might have problems - signed saves and DRM stuff.

Great idea, but too restrictive IMHO. Compared to PS3, the PS3 allows you to upgrade to whatever HDD you like. Funny Microsoft wants to implement something similar to the PS3. 120gb Hdd not moving at retail?

this a a good feature, something that was on my wishlist since 2006. if this feature prompts current gamers to upgrade to the new 60GB, its a win-win situation. the softmod process is quite simple. google "360 HDD v0.91" for tutorial. the only tricky part is u need to "borrow" a legit key from a friend's 120GB HDD. i have no such friend, so i use the publicly shared fujitsu 120GB key This post has been edited by acougan: Aug 13 2008, 09:52 PM

hurm... that's the only thing limits xbox. they put too much restriction on the hard drive unlike the ps3. 20gb? what thing to install? haha.. mine only demo's and arcade. already have 1gb remaining. if they dont reduce the price of 120gb or produce new enclosure for x360 where we can change the hard disc ourself, this idea might just be bad... 1 game took 7gb to install.. how much stuff could we put inside the tiny 20gb hdd. LOL. This post has been edited by msn83235502: Aug 13 2008, 10:34 PM

I was taken back by what John Carmack (Doom 3) said about upcoming game 'RAGE' in which the PS* version would be so much more better than the Xbox 360 version because they had to 'heavily compress' the game into a single DVD for the Xbox 360. John Carmack was kinda pissed about the Xbox 360 only being to play a game on one DVD disc. Now, I believe, things have changed. Someone should let this guy know that we can install his game on multiple discs... And did I hear correctly... Forza 3 uses 2 DVDs ? No problem. Pop the first disc, install. Pop the second disc, install. Pop the first disc, play with zero drive spinning noise and 30% faster load times !!

ya.. i saw on the video, the gta4 already 6.8gb. what much left for 20gb user. for elite user's it should not be a problem.
the best thing is microsoft could release an enclosure just like the current xbox360 hdd but we can open it an change it ourself.

ZOMG IDEAZ LOL final fantasy 13 will come in 2 discs. one install, one play. the install disc will install the full disc onto the hdd. the play disc will be needed to play.
this way, half the game is in the hdd, half the game is in the disc, but still needs both to go together(eg,map is on hdd,but requires characters on disc) no disc swapping!
