I think only those who are planning to launch apps with malicious intent, or those who have pirated apps inside their iPhones would worry about this. IF you are legit, there is nothing to worry about, the law is on your side.

Even if anyone knows, I'd rather that info not being made public. Let the pirates squirm in their shoes.

lol the problem is more ppl prefer pirated stuff with the saying why pay for it when u can get it free ?

Why are people laughing and gloating when they say these things? Are they PROUD that they are leeching off someone elses's hard work for free? Can I get USD4.99 or USD9.99 from your pockets now if you're so proud of doing this, because that's basically what you just did to these people. shakehead.gif

The Kill Switch is built within firmware 2.0. So it affect all gen iphones that's having firmware 2.0.

From iphonehacks:

Apple seems to have implemented this mechanism in iPhone firmware 2.0 to give them some control on iPhone Apps that have already been installed on the iPhone. We are guessing that Apple will use this mechanism only when they want to deactivate a malicious iPhone app.

Heard that iphone calls home(apple) once in a while too.

I secretly hope that is not all it does. They need to teach these pirates a lesson.

If you look at the background of the apps developers in the AppStore, they are not some megacorporate entities, they are simple human beings like you and me. Some worked off their bedrooms and basements, for crying out loud. Give these people their dues for their hard work.

I just hope these kinds of people are in the minority. Tainting the good name of Apple only. Once hacks and cracks becomes abundant, then you'll see every Apple product behaving like its shoddier counterpart: A PC....all buggy and unstable. Defeats a purpose of getting an Apple product. whistling.gif

The main allure of an Apple product is its relatively rock-hard stability, which need little to no frequent maintainance from the end user. Introducing hacks and cracks into this produces instability, and defeats the purpose of using an Apple in the first place.

If that is the case, why not move to Samsung Omnia or the disgusting Touch? Or are these folks waiting for the multitouch patent or all the iPhone advantages to be widespread and ditch iPhone altogether?

dya think im the only 1 in LYN here using pwnage/ winpwn method?
*
Im not talking about the pwnage/winpwn. Im talking about people pirating the apps from Appstore. You've already own the most desirable piece of mobile platform known to man, yet you skimp on a measly USD4.99 for a hacked app?

Hell, even during the good old 1.1.4 days, there were even people asking for a hack/crack for 3rd party apps!! Hack/cracks for iPhoneVideoRecorder , SwirlyMSS or even Showtime, and these arent even Apple's Apps in Appstore, these are from the very same people who brought you the very tool you use to unlock/jailbreak your iPhone so you can use it! Do some people have no shame that they are willing to screw the very people who made their iPhone-using experience happen, just because they are too cheap to support the very same people who gave them that privilege FOR FREE?

more pirate then more firmware will be produce.this will go on untill they shoot the pirate.

I agree on this, I all for the advancement of the firmware, but to those cheapasses who pirate even the most measly of Apps in Appstore, that gets my blood boiling. I remember my roots, I came from an activate/jailbreak/unlock background myself, hell I wrote the revirginizing thread in this forum! But please give these App developers a break by supporting them, they charge appropriately for their Apps, and you get proper support through the Apple AppStore channel. Some of them came from the same people who provided you free repositories for your previously 1.1.x apps! Why are you screwing them now just because they are on AppStore and asking for appropriate payment for their hardwork, but praised them to high heaven during the 1.1.x days when they provide things for free? Are you THAT cheap?

Which is what I am talking about. Giving these people their dues. You wont see me defending the likes of the devs that create crapwares like the "I am Rich" app, that one DESERVES to be pirated for all its worth.

My point here is give these people their dues, something they deserve, be it good (in terms of a purchase to continue supporting them to make more great apps), or teaching those devs who are crazily pricing their apps with astronomical prices. It already had worked with Cro-Mag Rally, with their lowered price now.

Piracy here is a double-edged sword, but Malaysians seems to be using the edge that convenient them most. Orang lain pun nak makan jugak bang!
