Hi there. currently im using a Nokia n95 and that time my phone is run out of battery.
my current battery is 3.7v 950mah. i take it off and use power supply which is 3.7v 1050mah and direct connect to its + and - phone contacts.
i saw 1 time spark once i connect the + to the + phone contact and - to the - phone contact pins. may i know which will be the cause of malfunction of my phone..? thanks..

Both is very very different thing plus power supply do not have mAh, most likely 1050ma which is around 1A. Its enough to kill ur phone already.

ya.. my mistake coz my battery run out of battery and i cant wait to turn on my phone.. so i use power supply which is about 1A. so can i know which cause it malfunction..? which components of it will be burnout 1st due to this situation? i got sch diagram but still not sure which 1 is burnout..

lol bro, if i am not mistaken, 1A is really high and can kill animal or human already lol. Most likely some where in the board is burnt, cant really see unless open it up, better send to shop or nokia care center. No schematic diagram, if got then other company can produce n95 also lol~

Usually it won't spoil, because I do it very oftenly on my Nokia 6680 using regulated lab power supply. But do you know that you cannot use the phone function if you don't earth the phone (middle pin)? Lol..

Okay, chicaman found the main culprit. 1050mA (current) is different with batteries' capacity rating (950mAh). You're supplying far too much current which caused voltage increase in unregulated supply.

I guess you have no choice but to replace the motherboard. Maybe a visit to professional repair shop will help. Next time use regulated DC supply to connect sensitive devices. You can get one for about RM400 in Jalan Pasar.

har.. u sure that is motherboard problem..? might just component burnt out rite..? the cap / res / diode can burnt out too rite?
i really got the schematic and outline too..

Yeah, it's sure because some component burnt out causing problem but can you solder on such small component? Do you have the equipment?

yes.. i know how to solder smd component. i opened it up and take a look at its board.. its 0402 size components. im expert in soldering 0603 and i guess thats not a problem for me to solder 0402 too.. last time im more do testing in RadioFrequency. now just been transferred to HARDWARE..
never serious to learn how to troubleshoot also lol.. oscilloscope can help me check all the board d..?

my company got 0402 components too.. just scare some dont have only.. if dont have, where i can get the components at outside shop..?

lol bro, i doubt u can see resistor capacitor inductor diode etc ... its everything inside the microchip.. hard to see which one burnt unless u can see the burnt mark, plus if the component is on the mobo, where do u get the spare parts, i doubt a phone mobo can be fixed that eaasily, if camera, speaker etc, it can be replaced easily. but for mobo, i doubt, everything is fabricated into the microcontroller chip



hmm if u know soldering and some basic about electronic stuff, how come u dono connecting 1A will kill the phone lol~

my phone out of warranty already.. use it for more than a year d.. i sent to a phone shop just now.. hope repair cost is cheap if not i rather let my n95 die forever.. and sell its part.. speaker, wifi, lcd.. thats better..

dc power supply not so exp lar.. cheap only.. i bring my phone go repair.. scare that it will cost me more than 200..

Its expensive lesson. I've no idea how much a new one cost. I've been to jalan pasar 1 time only lols~ just to get the component i need then i go home liao
