whats the difference between exchange and trade?

can we request the blog owner to post a response to that. he is a member of this forum, reads this thread and i believe he knows what the actual situation is.

the thing is tkt doesnt nuy it only to collect, he sells it to public via this forum. other people are just simply gutted that they didnt know about this, saw this for the first time and plus, they dont know there are real scalpers out there.

and hey, for all you know they are the scalpers.

ahh, i always understood trade and exchange as the same thing, which is swapping goods of the same value. thanks for clarifying!

IMHO..thats because the most readily available (yet limited) ones on the shelves are thunts and then ferrari. the ones you mentioned are unknown to new collectors, as they have yet to be exposed to DD or drag bus and thus do not know there are such things. i myself didnt know till i came here. my 2 cents.

Look, the market is in such a way there is bound to be someone, be it TKT or a scalper or an insider, who will run through all of the boxes and swipe the good stuff. It is how it is.

The thing is, TKT has gone ahead and beaten the scalpers in their game and is selling it to us at retail. By posting his pictures on a public forum he is exposing himself, in which if he was a scalper who swiped all the good stuff and sells it to you at sky high prices, he wouldn't. The market has been like that because of Mattel shortpacking their goods. If a case has less Dragtors/Ratbombs and more Evo X, the stocks will move faster and we will get better shipments and new stuff more often.

I'm saying not trying to divert the blame from people who sweep everything and shifting it to Mattel. I'm just simply pointing out the facts. Also, look a few posts up on this forum, other people have managed to score a lot of good stuff even without going through the cases but on the racks. It means that all hope is not lost. There are places with stuff that are unfiltered and untouched.

I just feel maybe you needed a face and name to point a finger to blame to release your frustration (just my guess). And so happened the blogger posted up the picture and suddenly TKT is to blame for all the cars that are not available on the shelves. He couldn't have hit all the shops, and how sure are you he bought from the same store as you?

You must get the idea that TKT is not the only one doing it. He's done it only because scalpers would/will eventually make their way to stores (and its usually pretty quickly) after they have been restocked and it would have been gone anyway. I'm trying to say that, in this race, it isn't just TKT against the kids. There are a lot of players around in this collectible business that are rather invisible or unknown to those who have not seen this side of the market. Its a bit disheartening, but true. Hot Wheels is no longer a kids toy, there are a lot of adults collecting them too.

The thing that ticks people off in here is IMHO, there are scalpers who have done what he did so many times and have been doing for a long time, but yet have not been accused by you. Rather, like I said previously, you needed a face and name to direct this blame to. On the other hand, TKT comes in, does it once with the a good intention, and then gets stoned for it from you and the other guys in the blog comments just because he was doing what is right. Justice is subjective. Even if TKT stopped today the game will not change.

Scalpers almost always gets first view and then will swipe the good stuff in the cases. Once those are gone there is nothing you, me, TKT or anyone else can do about it. TKT has just simply gone and beaten them because he can do something about it before that happens. Its a bit cruel, but IMHO, younger kids can't do anything about it anyway. The market is like that because of the way Mattel sets it.

There are a lot of people you have to tell before changes to that level happens. What I think is right may not be what you think is right. We do what is right in our own eyes. There is no set standard for righteousness.
