How to transfer my contacts from simcard into the iphone

i got an APP called simport but it dont work. it just loads then it goes out to the main menu..

and when i tried to reinstall it says package download failed:cant find host

the best, copy all ur contact to addressbook if u using windows(apple i dont know)
sync the addressbook using itunes, u can easy update ur contact

Use your Pc suite from your previous phone to transfer all your contacts to Microsoft Outlook and then use the iTunes to sync your contacts from the m. Outlook into your iPhone. This what I did from my previous Sony Ericssons w810i.

you can use the iPhone to Import SIM contacts.

go to Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts

didnt work cause in Settiongs > mail there was no contact

you using what version? 1.1.4?

Could have been easier when you're on 2.0 coz this function is integrated as said above.... have you tried that sync method where u said simport is not working? hey, simport should work lah... nobody ever reported any kickback from simport... how do you install simport? installer? panda pc suite apps? or file transfer?

Q: Is it possible to create 'separate' contacts?! Take for example, I have JasLyn in my MBP's Address Book [but that only stores her email add]. I also have JasLyn in my phone / sim card.

If I do a sync, I'll get 2 JasLyn's right?! Any possibility of an 'auto-merge' or would it need to be updated manually?!

Yes, it is possible, but they need to be inside Contacts/Address Book as two separate entities, not on the SIM.
