THanks for sharing with us your condition. Well, if your derma said that your hair loss is affected by dandruff that is not entirely untrue. You see, in med terms hair loss can be cause by a varying of conditions and circumstances. As for dandruff, it is usually caused by over production of sebum (oil) by your hair follicle's oil glands that cause the scalp skin to peels off. That is in fact showing that your hormone levels are imbalanced.

As dead skin (dandruff) can in fact assists in your hair loss by blocking your scalp to breath and absorb treatment properly (dead skin cannot breath) it's possible that it can trigger your growing hairs to fall off too. But you have to remember that hairs falling off from dandruff problem is not related to Pattern Baldness. PB is caused by genetically affected hormones known as DHT that minituarizes your hair follicles and shorten your hair growth and eventually after years you will see a pattern of hair loss based on the Norwood Chart.

The reason there is a pattern is because DHT only affects the crown and front part of your scalp but the sides are not affected because they are genetically resistant to the effects of DHT. So if you have a Pattern of Hair Loss, then DHT is the main cause.

The first step to stop Pattern Baldness is to stop DHT and then use vitamins and a few steps to help your hair grow back. As this won't take weeks or months, expect a long term plan of at least 1 to 2 years since you are already in Stage 3 for a full recovery.

Start your treatment with Propecia (for men only) and also Minoxidil for maximum effectiveness. Get yourself a good mild or organic shampoo and make sure you don't wax or gel your hair to prevent further unnecessary hair loss. Then try reducing stress and find alternatives that can boosts your hair. This is the only solution for hair loss unless you want to go for a hair transplant.

Make sure you follow the treatments as advised by your doctor and if you don't have an underlying illnesses that can cause hair loss, your chances of recovering back up to 80% of the hair you lost will be quite satisfactory.

Regards,

Calvin

I am just wondering if the planting hair surgery has been introduced in malaysia. Saw from magazine that hk has already had this surgery. It is known to be very effective. Only take half and hour to complete the operation. Hair will grow naturally after the operation.

Normally started with propecia +minoxidil.
For shampoo, if a shampoo like Selsun Blue, or even any shampoo that is currently u use in the market taht is not snesitive to ur scalp will be OK...since it is not the most importnat part if u suffer from MPB.

Welcome to my blog belwo and find out more.
Ia m taking Propecia as well..

Well if you are looking for a hair transplant surgeon the best way to get one is Singapore.Singapore has been involved in plastic surgery as well as other cosmetical options like hair transplants. Here in Malaysia, I am not sure whether they have that kind of facilities to accommodate it at the present moment.

Dear Jae,

If you are looking for a hair loss treatment like Propecia, you will need a prescription from your doctor first to evaluate your condition whether is it suitable for your condition. For Minoxidil, it's recommended that men should take the 5% while women should consider using the milder 2%. As for shampoo, if you have dandruff problems, you can try Nizoral Shampoo..but it's hard to source in Malaysia though..so if you can't find one consider looking for shampoo with herbal properties like rosemary, biotin, panthenol, aloe vera and such. If you want a good one, try body shop because most of their products are organic..very suitable for hair loss.

From your post, I have to said Yun Nam did a good job by branding their hair care. In fact, how can a hair care center turn its 99% failure rate to the Malaysia brand in hair care? I really think it should be put in MBA case study.
Read this if you don't know the truth of Yun Nam

It's really simple how Yun Nam works...they charge cheap..people go in..do first few treatments for low price and then they start to psycho you...to pay more for this and that..they are targeting desperate people with desperate needs...that is to overcome their hair loss problems..they may initially use some products that can thicken your hair but at the end you will lose thousands because it's too costly for you to continue the treatment...

based on your words, exprience and age, i believe that your hair loss isssue is mainly due to the hormonal imbalance and stress. The best way is to get a second opinion from other doctors. There are a few doctors who give good result on hair loss such as Ranjit Singh in SS15 Subang Jaya, Dr Alice from Bangsar, Dr Sasi Dharan from Sri hartamas and etc.

To stop hair loss or to get hair regrowth, you need at least 3-6 months to see some results. Result are usually slow and a lot of patience needed.

HI, may I know if we can use Minoxidil straight without consulting a dermatologist first? From the previous posts, it seems like Minoxidil can only be used on head that still have hair. My husband's hair is thinning, (not totally balding) from the left and right side of forehead, moving towards the middle, so is he having a Male Pattern hair loss and in this case, can use Minoxidil?

Minoxidil WORKS, ive been applying this topical solution for about 6months now, probably more.

starting phase - you will lose more hair (indication that it will work)
mid phase - you start to see tiny hair growing from bald spots
onwards - full results happen in a year. i ve got almost full growth, only spot where it needs more time is the frontal side (M - shape) but it is not that visible anymore.

4/5 people who uses this will get results. u have to be pretty unlucky if it doesn't work on you - USE KIRKLAND MINOX - WORKS JUST AS FINE AS OTHER BRANDS + CHEAPER

Kirkland is cheap if you bought it online. It works best if you use it with Propecia.

Metabolism of the person is the main determinant how fast the hair grows.
Metabolism slows down and the cells are inactive due to the poor blood circulation after the blood becomes more acidic.
Time for the hair to grow will be longer, thus the hair fall problem worsens.
Our blood need to be slightly alkaline to help our body in order to regain its own ability to take care of own our body.
PM me for more information.

Added on January 25, 2011, 10:25 pmI will not recommend people using this product. Because if you stop using the product, you will suffer hairloss for 6 months until u bald then the original hair will grow back. That is info I got from the Doctor here :

OK LET ME SHARE MY 2 CENTS

Minoxidil WORKS, ive been applying this topical solution for about 6months now, probably more.

starting phase - you will lose more hair (indication that it will work)
mid phase - you start to see tiny hair growing from bald spots
onwards - full results happen in a year. i ve got almost full growth, only spot where it needs more time is the frontal side (M - shape) but it is not that visible anymore.

4/5 people who uses this will get results. u have to be pretty unlucky if it doesn't work on you - USE KIRKLAND MINOX - WORKS JUST AS FINE AS OTHER BRANDS + CHEAPER

where can i find this minoxidil? watson or guardian sell it?

If you have oily hair like me, most probably hair thinning is due to clogged hair pores. Clean scalp well to remove the clogged pores and massage your scalp with hair brush gently after drying your hair. Symptom of clogged pores are shinny scalp and sometimes reddish due to sebum allergies

Looking at your problem, i may suggest you to try some natural remedy for your hair loss. Shampoo your hair with Tar shampoo every alternate day. After doing this, wash your hair with a conditioner. Do this thrice a week and see the results.

You can also try massaging your scalp with coconut oil as it is the best cure for dealing with Hair Loss.

Several factors lead to hair loss in men and women, most notably androgenic alopecia, an inherited condition. Treatment is available. Early treatment produces better results. Balding is a cosmetic condition, usually resulting from genetic influences, aging, skin conditions, or certain medications. The most common forms of balding are male- and female-pattern baldness. I have accidentally visited this site http://www.1-800-hairloss-treatment.com/ and gave it a try. It has informations and products for those people who are balding and suffering from hair thinning or hair loss. I have been using it now for 6 months and i am very happy with the result. I recommend you try this for good results.

According to me when it comes to healthy hair, it’s not just what you put on your tresses that count,it’s what you put in your body, too.Always maintain a balanced diet with exercise for healthy hair. Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair.

Some fantastic guidelines for the healthy hair are:

Wash your hair daily using some top quality natural hair shampoo.
Comb your hair constantly.
Moisturizing your head skin with dabber oil, or almond oil.
Eat more calcium foods and nutrient vitamin meals.
Drink more milk products.
Don't use cosmetics for your hair.

This may appear to be self advertisement but you can check out this website www.trichohaircare.com.my for some info on hair loss causes and treatment.

While we do not normally comment on forums, there are many reasons for hair loss. Some are not yet well understood like MPT and AA, one caused by androgens and the other by auto-immune response. These 2 are the most common genetic related conditions but not the only. Fungal and bacteria infection are another cause and where treatment is not provided immediately, hair loss is often permanent due to tissue scaring. There may be also behaviour and pyschological reasons for hair loss, such as compulsive hair pulling, bad hygiene, head dress or caps. Covering your hair all day and not washing your hair at the end of it can lead to fungal and bacteria infections. Scalp disorders, malnutrition, poisoning, illness, drugs and pregnancy are other causes of hair loss. Hair perms or hair chemical can also damage your hair resulting in hair loss. Of course this list is not the concise list.

It is best to consult a doctor familiar with hair loss problems or a trichologist if you have hair loss. Hair loss is not only a condition but an important symtom in diagnosis of some illnesses. A doctor or trichologist would be able to tell the difference between a symtom or just a genetic condition. Often a blood test, medical and physical examination, even a hair mineral analysis or a hormonal lab test is needed for a proper diagnosis. We often work closely with doctors and dermatologist to diagnose and treat patients. If we suspect illness as a cause, we usually recommend the patient see a doctor to have the suspected illness verified before putting the patient on any treatment.

As for products, both topical and supplements, they are as good as the diagnosis and if you are not certain, it is often a hit or miss scenerio at best. But generally we do not recommended self treatment as many products contain harmful substance that may be absorbed through the skin and accumulate in the body. Quite often this leads to kidney or liver problems or hormonal imbalance. And too much calcium can be a problem of its own. And if you really insist on self treatment, do see a doctor to have a blood test and medical examination every 6 months and keep a health diary, writing down any symtoms that you may encounter while you are on these products and stop if something unusual appears. Always establish a health baseline first.

Hope this helps.

BTW I am not the trichologist, just a friend of the trichologist. The information above is just regurgitated but proof read.

hi maybe you can try sleep early, and wake up drinking sage tea, do use shampoo for hair loss like loreal hair loss shampoo, keratin shampoo, hair scalp shampoo. after 3month you can use minoxidil 5% foam
don't take spicy food, coz it will make you sweat and make your hair scalp oily,
try take spinach vege, carrot, walnut, supplement like propecia. for cheaper solution try olive oil, and supplement is a must, some people say take seafood, red meat but i don't take that

Hi, I'm facing front receding hair loss around early 20. I'm current 24 right now, the front receding increase by 20-30%. Is there any solution or treatment to make it grow? or should I change shampoo??

My background:

Try Dr Nathan @ Nathan Skin & Laser Centre.

He does treat hair loss problems as I was one of his patients. I can safely testify that his treatment works as I was experiencing major hair loss issues.

However, do not expect immediate results as it too me almost 5 months to notice substantial and significant improvements. His treatment for me included some supplements (one of it is folic acid), hair spray and shampoo.

I've visited his clinic 3 times in the course of 5 months and each session cost about RM650.

If you do intend to go, I suggest you make an appointment as walk-ins will have to wait a very long time. smile.gif

Hair fall is becoming a common problem for everyone, every 10th person in the world is facing this problem, few reasons of hair fall can be related to your daily diet, environmental condition, or it can be hereditary.

There are many products available in the market for hair loss, which can slow down this process and help in gaining new hair, but again before using any product consult with expert and search for user reviews for that product.

I've suffering of hair loss issue since few years back... so sad for it.
Tried many products around the market, visited so many hair care center and i did really spend a lot on it. Yet, none satisfied me so far. Not even to control my hair loss problem...
Recently found a new hair care center open up in Mid Valley, still i give it a try. Suprisingly i feels the result is satisfying.
Say what, i found that my hair loss issue doesn't as worse as before, at least it is getting better i would say. My main concern is to control the volume of hair loss at least, then looking forward if they could help me grow back my hair a bit. I'm still TOO YOUNG to be bold!!!
hahaha... You guys may wanted to try it out, maybe? don't mind for it, i visited Jonsson Protein since 3 weeks ago. So far everything is good for me... Hopefully everything gets better...

Hair loss is a big problem but there are not many doctors/specialists dealing in or specialising in hair care issues. At best, its just a complementary business that many dermatologists get involved in.

Basically, its an image problem affecting most of the sufferers. Men can get bald but what's the great problem if you can come to terms with your baldness but hair loss to a woman can be very depressing as they are more concerned with their appearance and no one likes to be seen with a bad hair problem.

Is hair loss really a serious problem after all? Why is there a lack of medical specialists in this field where so many hair loss salons has sprung up and fleecing lots of customers and making good money out of it. I am sure that doctors will do a better job if they get involve in this as part of their core speciality.

I really dont know but from the gathering and researching some of the hair loss articles that I have read through, I think nutrition is the key to improving one's hair loss problem and the other one is to treat the scalp effectively if its infected with bacteria which is inhibiting the growth of hair in the hair follicles.

Just my 2 sen.

Here are some materials that are very good for your hair:
1. Cottage Cheese
Being abundant in high quality proteins, including whey and casein, cottage cheese are a trusted ingredient used to moisturize the scalp. When your scalp get stronger and well hydrated, the hair also becomes healthier and shiny. Additionally, the content of vitamin B and D in the cheese contributes significantly to the process of hair growth while the amino acids actively nourish the hair strands.

Cottage cheese can be used as a snack or added into side dishes.

2. Eggs
Keratin, a kind of protein, is known as the main composition of hair. Therefore, to have strong and healthy hair, providing enough proteins through your diet is necessary. Among food rich in these substances, eggs are standing out for its high quality protein, which is extremely good to promote hair growth and prevent breakage. At the same time, the B vitamins and biotin in eggs help prevent hair problems and keep your scalp hydrated.

You can choose having one egg served daily or making a hair mask with eggs.

3. Quinoa

Besides eggs, quinoa is also an ample source of protein that you can make use of to benefit your hair. The protein in this grain has been discovered with high quality, thus it is used in several hair products. Meanwhile, the vitamin E in quinoa helps control the natural oil production on the scalp, keeping it well hydrated and the hair healthy. Other nutrients like niacin, B vitamins and biotin also work to promote hair growth and strength.

You can make use of quinoa by using it in salads or other dishes.

IF you are not satisfied if the doctors treatment then go for home remedies. Home remedies are best. You can see online tips for home remedies. Instead of using all those pills go for home remedies.

Actually protein intake doesn't helps in all the cases, it only helps if hair fall is caused by protein deficiency. Improve the blood circulation on scalp through topical treatment will be the best to treat most of the cases.

You are female, propecia usually works better for guy. In your case, hair loss most likely was due to unhealthy dietary you had previously to lose weight. You condition will revert back to normal when you start having your regular meals, when you had enough of proteins intake.

Be careful when using propecia, side effects include reduced libido and erectile dysfunction.

You may want to check out www.cosmetology.com.my for an affordable and effective solution which is all natural and side-effect free.

To those who is looking for solution on Hair Loss.. like me, go try this. Trust me, this is the most cheapest and fastest way to see results even the end of 2nd month. It works for me, bro in law and friends... why not give it a try. Honestly I’m here to help people like me and I don’t get anything in return.

Go check out Dr Ranjit Singh in Jalan SS 15/4D, Subang Jaya.
Ranjit Skin Specialist Laser & Hair Clinic
Details: https://m.facebook.com/Ranjit-Skin-Speciali...72542239489726/

In my personal opinion, allow at least 3 months to grow and I bet you will see the diff.

Product: tablet medicine for hair grow (30 tablets for morning, 30 tablets before sleep) this is the most crucial part of the package which cost RM150. Optional: hair serum or Shampoo (both add up to 120). Honestly I can tell other famous expensive brand is just a waste of time & money. I have tried a few expensive brands is still futile.

My condition in august 2017: Hair thinning (70% baldness) on the Centre

Nov 2017: notice hair grow almost 80% full (but is still not perfect yet).. well good to know friends and family have noticed it.

Advise: Just opt for its tablet medicine (RM150/per mth supply) is suffice! The content of the medicine is all natural (ginseng, herbs, etc). You can check with the Dr. Additional items wld be the serum and shampoo. (Both add to 130)
Upside: notice some results in within 3 months time
Downside: for first timer, you may have to Q, register yourself and consult with the Dr. Waiting time: at least 1hour minimum “if without appointment”. But thereafter the consultation, you can just purchase the medicine over the counter on your next visit. Finding parking is like finding a needle in a haystack.. So getting there early morning is the best option.

I guess that’s all. Good luck to #hairexplorer.. cheers

When it comes to hair loss, most people would usually opt for 2 options:

1. Hair transplant (surgical)
2. Hair products

However, the first option of hair transplant is expensive and may not be necessary for most people. While the second option is a cheaper alternative, the effectiveness is barely noticeable.

I would recommend going for a natural hair loss treatment without surgery. This can be by using PRP treatment done by qualified doctors.

How this treatment works is it uses your own blood plasma to rejuvenate the dead hair follicles and induce the growth of the scalp's hair root cells.

Here's a clinic that is popular for treating hair loss in a natural manner > https://www.dermlaze.com.my/our-services/ha...loss-treatment/

Address and directions:

Dermlaze Skin Laser Centre
75G, Jalan SS21/60
Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya,
Selangor,
Malaysia

Go in for private consultation with their doctor to assess if you are suitable for this form of treatment.
