Anyone can recommend a good dive centre?

Last month i did diving with Quiver Long Beach and it's the best diving experience i've ever had in Perhentian!!
i end up doing my AOW with them
Funny bunch..mostly british instructor/DM.

I think it's the most worth it diving price i could find on the island too!! DM me for the price.

Pls go there and check it out!!

I've started to gain trust with Peninsular East Coast diving since diving with Quiver.

I'm craving to go diving so bad right now but it's monsoon...

Wish i have buddy to go diving early next yr (between Jan-Mar) to somewhere..Mabul/Semporna..or Thailand.. or even Pulau Payar.

Is pulau payar any good?
I heard there's lots of sharks and turtles there.
I enjoy corals but i enjoy large shoal of fish too.
I'm surprise that when i dived in Perhentian this year, the amount of fish reminds me of diving in Mabul!! but of course the fishes in Perhentian are alot smaller in size. but it's still an amazing experience.

Before i took diving license, i've always think it's the ultimate coolest thing i could do on an island. but once i'm a diver..i do appreciate going snorkeling too sometime!! Snorkeling is coool toooo!

i got mine for 160  smile.gif  if u not fussy about brands and design la.

like u, i dont like wearing contacts, so mask serves purpose very well.

I got mine UniDive brand, not bad. Cost me below RM200 and still works fine and it's 2years now.
It's so comfortable to have your own mask. My mask even have purging function.
It's convenient that u dont have to clear mask often if water gets in..but it tends to get foggy. just have to remember to spit and let it settle before each dives.

The other day I forgot to bring my own mask, and it takes time for me to get used to the dive shop masks (and i wore contacts). Why i don't really like to wear contacts is coz i like to dive head first into the water after diving and contacts might drop if i accidentally open my eyes.

I've got my own booties and fins too but only travel with it once.
it's not so convenient to carry it if traveling using public transport if u wanna travel light. and usually diveshops have good fin brands too (Mares etc)..it's not as hard to get used to fins compared to BCD and masks IMHO.
Fins with booties usually are heavier and i usually just use those without booties..like for snorkellers ones..as long as it serves it's purpose.

Thanks for sharing this!!
They have very good reviews too..i might have to cancel my rescue course plan next week and plan to go this place instead..maybe during east coast monsoon season later..
Better enjoy diving to the max in our country's east coast while it lasts.
Diving in Thailand is just so-so..right?

cheers!!

Phi phi is like so so only... on par with peninsula malaysia east coast islands. nothing to shout about

Agreed. I paid 3500baht for 2 dives@phi phi island from Ao Nang, slow boat (2hrs 1 way) with lunch and fruits, and i think diving in Perhentian is better!
But i don't regret it coz i really wanted to dive and i get to meet people from all over the world on the boat.
