Wanna ask...do you all normally bring your booties and fins along when you travel by plane? If so, how do you guys carry it? Do they charge extra as sports equipment?

QUOTE(TAGreptiles @ Aug 4 2011, 11:35 AM) i got a 28" luggage bag for it. Just put everthing inside and check in. Act like dunno. Air Asia will lepas without problem... LOL...I supposed Air Asia is quite lenient about it. I actually bought a fin bag. Can carry like bag pack and put some other diving gears inside too but it's designed is like fish net so can see through. Not sure if can get past or not hahaha.... |

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Aug 5 2011, 02:05 PM) Same. Mine's a big hard luggage roller bag as well. Throw all my BCDs and everything inside and stuff whatever extra clothing in. Wetsuits usually stuff it into another bag cause it takes up quite a lot of space by itself. Regulator hand carry. Hmm, aiyar I bought my netting dive bagpack in MIDE for RM90 only but never thought of the see through (put as check-in at people can see the things inside) coz it was last day so a bit rushed. Couldn't find a good covered bag for fins alone. Besides, I'm using power fin so it's quite long and needed a big bag If you don't declare it as sports equipment then they won't charge you as long as you're below the weight limit. But if you bought that type of netting dive bag, they might charge you for sports equipment, Scuba gear is under their sports equipment category. I'm not sure about this but I wouldn't try to take the risk. |

QUOTE(chuen87 @ Mar 28 2012, 07:41 PM) hi guys, just wondering how much does open water and advance open water cost? planning to do it in tenggol. thanks I did my OWC in Tenggol. Pool lesson in PJ then graduated at Tenggol. It's slightly more expensive compared to fast course (doing all in the island). I think my overall fees are about RM1.8K that includes equipment rental, boat transfer and accommodation. I added extra dives though so it should be less than that. If just the course alone I think RM1.4K? I stayed at Tenggol Island Beach Resort. The one in the middle. The other 2 resort seems empty when I was there last May.That place is fantastic, not just underwater. The beach is quiet and peaceful with delicious food. It's like as though you own the island. Will definitely go back again. Miss diving |

Hi guys,
Anyone interested in LOB in Similan Phuket next week? This is sort of a replacement. My friend couldn't go last minute and is looking for someone to take up her place. Details as follow: Date: 21-16 Nov - Unlimited dives - My friend got the whole boat so you'll be diving with her other 8 friends. - Total cost is RM2,600 but you just need to pay for the balance RM800 + own flight ticket to Phuket. Can check out Venus Marina for the boat info. Anyone interested do PM me and I'll provide further details. Thanks! This post has been edited by micgil: Nov 16 2012, 05:33 PM |
