All got UW housing. I jelly. cry.gif

Super tempted to get a GoPro. Still cheaper than buying an UW housing for my camera.

So I won an auction on ebay for a vintage 1st and 2nd stage regulator. Hopefully its not a mistake. tongue.gif

Bought this for US$60 shipped.

It does have a damaged part. The yoke saddle is cracked. But I asked my local dive shop and it don't seem expensive to fix.

According to the seller, it works fine, but he suggested me to service it before use as my spare reg.

Putra & munkey can advice if i got trolled? Seems to come with pretty good reviews all around despite being about 30 years old. sweat.gif

I'm planning on taking a course in diving and also planning on making it a hobby as my intro dive was great! I'd like to ask where in KL can I find a good shop to buy equipments? I have seen in this thread that there was one in sungei wang..but wasn't able to find it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Total if not mistaken around RM7k. Strobe bought during last year Mide @ RM1.7k each. Housing RM1.8k.

@TAG : I think you got a nice set.

its not a hobby, its extreme sport, and once u get hooked there's no going back...

u can try Scubatex in USJ, their IST/ Cressi range is reasonably priced.

Sg Wang area, Plaza Berjaya has a shop. If u open your eyes there's a scuba shop in every corner of KL haha

read thru this thread for tips on starting your dive adventure and purchasing equipment. i'd say get a mask if you are short-sighted (like me) and fins for a comfortable time underwater. Other than that, use the rental equipment first. This way u can try out different brands and designs before spending on own equipment.

Anyone can share with me their UW camera setup? Want to change my dslr to smaller camera easy to bring anywhere .. Also UW casing for dslr was too expensive hehe..

I'm using canon 5D with ikelite housing plus 2 inon z240 strobe with i-das arm. One of the problem with DSLR is either you take macro, or you take wide angle, there's no kill 2 birds with 1 stone story anymore... biggrin.gif btw, my camera gear itself is around 10kg, so if you don't mind another 10kg with your dive gear, you can consider it too... and you can dive without weight. biggrin.gif

This is a good regulator, some people refer it to old skool reg, try to fight trigger fish with that 2nd stage, you will know what i mean... brows.gif
btw, i think its better you could buy some repair kit and keep, in case you want to keep this regulator for some time, some local dealer find it hard to get the parts. Good buy thumbup.gif

Scubatex, as ericcc has already mentioned, is a good place to get scuba equipments at pretty reasonable prices. There are lots of shops in Klang Valley selling scuba equipments. 1Utama has 2, Mid Valley also got. I don't know about the one in Sungei Wang so can't help you out there. There are quite a few in PJ, Subang and Cheras area. Some even operate from their house, so ask around, there are a lot of them. biggrin.gif

Take up the course first, make more friends, try out different type of equipments first before you decide on investing into your own set. Most of us will get the mask, booties and fins first. Wetsuit not really necessary in our Malaysian water. Get a rashguard and a few beach pants and you're good to go.

Actually got trolled already. The guy refused to ship to malaysia even when he listed malaysia as one of the places he ships to. Then i insist him to ship, he sent me invoice $49 USD for shipping. What an asshat. sad.gif

Reg cost $49, listed shipping price was $10, but now want $49. He refused to ship and offering it to the 2nd highest bidder instead. Launched complaint to eBay already. And i don't want it anymore. Later he put shit inside. laugh.gif

EDIT: Sealantis wants Rm315 to service it for me. doh.gif Just not my day today. unsure.gif

Padi vs SSI which OnE better? AFAIK padi got 5x confine water + 4x open water.. But SSI only got 4x dive (not sure whether confine/open water). But SSI was cheaper than padi rite? I got offer rm1.1k including accommodation, meal and transport..
