Open water course normal rate is around RM1000. but usually not less than RM900.. any agency is good.. just prepare RM1.3k-RM1.5k for OWC+Transport to Island+Accommodation+Meals for 4D3N.

QUOTE(Putraskyline @ Jan 21 2013, 11:08 AM) From what I know, the chances are a bit higher if you have buddy to dive with and stay in the same room. Dammit. Recently broke it off with my dive buddy/partner. Oh well, no harm trying.

Its an expensive hobby in my opinion. So if you want to take OW, please be prepared because you need more cash if you want to go dive holiday. Many people that I know stop diving after they take Open Water Course because they are not willing to spend for a dive holiday.

I think the best for me is just stay in shallow water and do snorkeling.

diving's not a cheap sport... but its worth every single penny, @wordtalks. the course fee sounds high but it includes your holiday getaway! and its fun fun fun all the way. and theurepeutic, good for the mind body and soul...

Check for promos and expo. Usually cheaper to buy during those time.
Or if you plan to get your gears overseas, was told Hong Kong is one of the cheapest place to get Scubapro products.

Interested to do OWD. Not satisfy during snorkelling at pangkor last week. But honestly, I can't swim.. Haha luckily I'm snorkelling with life jacket. I'm ok with that. So any problem with me to take scuba certificate ? I've read some of you also didn't know how to swim and manage to get ow cert. but some of dive center state on their website, "swim 100m", "snorkel 200m" Etc...
