Since i'm into bonsai,
My friends are very weird, they try to investigate what made me so into it. So i'm the only one within my friends to be so into bonsai. It's hard to have friends tag along to nurseries. lol have to find and go on my own.
But after have this new hobby, i don't drive as fast as i used to. I will drive slowly and can't stop looking at the trees around.
Guessing how old they are, appreciating the nebari of the big giant trees and it makes me happy for some reason...lol(funny)
And while driving in tamans, I will try to look what people have in thier small gardens...
Don't know if other bonsai lover share the same experince.

I bought some seeds over ebay, when i started bonsai and can't find a good nusery.
Chinese elm, 50+seeds for rm15, all the way from the USA.
The ad of the seed is something like this,

user posted image

So i got last 2 weeks and started sowing.
I put them in water for about 2 days, when i see the "kaki" coming out, i sow them.
Will post the photos later...

Happy Friday!!! Weekend is coming!!! time for bonsai!! icon_rolleyes.gif

You lucky to have bonsai nursery in your place, here in my town, no such nursery.. rclxub.gif

Maybe you should think of sending all your bonsai to a plant nursery where the owner is willing to take care for you for a cheaper price.
*
Transporting the pots to nursery will involve too much time and effort... i guess i will settle for the automated watering system, i think its not a once off thing, can used everytime i am not around. I will place an order for it... will share when i received the items and tested them... rclxms.gif

Thought of having moss on the soil top of the pot.
So have to find moss. I was walking behind my factory
and I found this harvest area.
[attachmentid=3252196]

growing moss on the top soil is it better then putting tiny gravels? any recommendations?

Yesterday, while back from work, drove pass neighbour house, found they dung out an old 'sui mei' and throw them at the road side.
so guess what, i took them back home hoping to do some miracle on the old 'sui mei'

Attached Image This is how i found it.... rclxub.gif already dug out...

Attached Image I further trim the roots, as it was too big for my pot..... serious injury to the 'sui mei' dunno can survive or not...

Attached Image Cannot find a suitable pot, so just add soil and water and dump into this empty 20liters pail... hoping it will survive then find a suitable pot it....

Now pray and hope it will grow into something..... drool.gif

Hahahahahha... just too free..... my wife keep nagging, why plant an old dead block !!!... doh.gif thumbup.gif

Hi G400x2

First I would like to congrats you that you have found a very big "shui mui" stump which is very rare.
But secondly, I would like to say if you keep that stump in that manner, you are going to drown and kill it.

Any plant with big stump like that should be able to grow again.
I suggest you make some hole in the bottom of that plastic paint drum and change the soil to the normal planting soil.

Here is my suggestion

[attachmentid=3257075] cut away the marked part and cut the plastic drum lower and keep it in half sunlight condition.

Good Luck to your "treasure"!
*
thanks, bonsailelong, for the advise.. will try to cut off the stump as indicated by you, but it's very tough, guess i will need a saw to do it!!!
oh... the pail i oledi make holes for it....btw, my neighbour say the sui mei stump oledi more then 20years old!!! whistling.gif thumbup.gif

HI, G400x2

If you really mean business to fly over here to San Fong to buy bonsai, I will definitely help out.
But you must think of the packing that you can bring the bonsai you bought up to the plane.
I suggest you contact San Fong through Facebook and find out how they can send over bonsai by flight.
*
QUOTE(zabel8484 @ Jan 17 2013, 11:34 AM)
Or u can direct call sanfong. I heard many ppl from sabah buy from them n they courier it to sabah instead of bringing together on plane bcoz the cost is high.
courier cheaper but need to think of the packing as Bonsailelong said.
*
ya... good idea will try to contact sanfong first if they can do the packing.... hmm.gif
Thanks guys for all your tips.... thumbup.gif
