Hi everybody.. help!! i think this buxus is going to die. i recently re-potted this tree bought from a nursery, about 1 month after purchase. some new shoots came out but recently they all started to get weak somewhat and turned yellow. may someone advise where i got it wrong and how to revive it?

one desperate measure i did today- submerge the pot into another pot of water two times. then soak the pot. dont know if will work but am hoping for the best.

i used mix 50:50 black and burnt red soil. it received on the mid day and evening sun, also shaded by some tall garden plants.

Hi pltan,

I'm not familiar with bonsai nurseries around KL, but I think you can find them at Sg Buloh or Semenyih. Price? can't comment.
Please see previous posts.. also look up types of plants suitable for condo.

Hi Ariyes,

Min Hoe Yuen is at Jalan Pokok Mangga, Melaka. There are 2 shops. one is beside balai polis malim and a shell petrol station if i'm not mistaken. the other one is about 300m further along Jalan Pokok Mangga, next to Econsave.

Hi all, I am new and trying to pick up this hobby and slowly learn. I bought this tiny bonsai 3 months ago, and now it has grows out of shape, but I am not sure what to do next. What I did in the past months, is just changing to a bigger pot, with holes underneath for the water to flow. And water it every 2-3 days.

I do not dare to start trimming(right term?) because afraid if I did not do it correctly might get the branches infected, or worse Dead. Any basic advice can share with me? If I decided to cut off all the leafs (botak), will it be ok? And for the copper wires, they are shaped by the shop when I first bought it... Any idea when do I need to redo the wire myself? I don't know anyone or friends who interested in bonsai, so I have to find out myself and hopefully learn a few things from master sifus here. Thank you all.

My opinion.

Don't put any stone or heavy object in the pot because their weight is compressing the soil.
Do not defoliate at this stage because the leaves are still fresh and new. let the flowers bloom and over before defoliation.
