This is the miniature  premna i am talking about. Hopefully  i can get some experts  comments  n advise  thanks .

Hi Rnck, that premna is already super awesome. If i find one like that, i,ll surely buy it. For me, i,ll just maintain the shape only for now.

I got that premna & malpighia from min hoe yuen melaka. They got lots if it, but have to check everynow and now afraid if they all got sold out. I usually spend about 2 hrs 😁 at mhy looking, admiring & dreaming about how my bonsai can one day become like what they sell there.šŸ˜„

Hi, this is the malpghia or barbados cherry (correct me if i,m wrong) bought from min Hoe yuen Melaka. Anybody have its care instructions in ourtropical climate . I found one in the internet but that,s telling how to care for it in the US region. This one actually already potted since i took the picture.

Hi Rnk,

You have a beautiful Brazilian Rain Tree.
If you are willing to give it an intensive cut at the top branches and control the grow back, it will certainly
become an awesome tree. Mind to post front and back photo of the tree?

Attached Image

BTW, there is an awesome cucur attap at the back ground, can I ask where did you buy it from?

For the boxwood, I wish to give a suggestion.
Change to a bigger flat pot, Boxwood is a fibrous root specie, it prefer to have more room to grow side way.
Do a little clean up trim at the lower part of the tree to expose the branches and do a little trimming at the canopy to
make it look even so that as it grows it will not run out of shape.

It's a good idea to place the smaller pot on top of a bigger pot to allow roots to have more room to grow.
I believe you must have make a bigger opening at the bottom of the small pot.
Keep on trimming the foliage to keep the shape up. Good work Rnk! Keep it up! rclxms.gif

Hi Rnk,

Your mini shui mui is a nice one.
If you can spend a little time brushing and clean up the branches it will definitely look superb.
Also replant the mosses, lower down, slightly below the top of the pot, this will match better.

Hi Oldkidz,

Yes, if you are near Melaka, you can get it there in Min Hoe Yuen Bonsai nursery, i would recommend becoz if you go normal nursery they would not have bonsai materials rather they will have garden plants.
If you are near Semeyih, then Sanfong would be the best of the best to get great bonsais. With a budget of RM100/- you can get a very nice Shui Mui 80% done bonsai.
Bonsai materials ranged from RM10 - rm50. cheap ones.
With this you can get, shui mui, boxwood, buddhist pine, young junipers and some fukien tea.
The Min Hoe Yuen is located in Pokok Mangga( GPS SengHeng pokok Mangga), if you can find Evonsave supermart then you're near..
*
Hi rnck, this is the location stated in old posts. Accurate. Just find the seng heng jalan pokok mangga and its just 500m from there.

Hi Rnk,

Buddha pine is a real full day tree require maximum sunlight and lots of water (but not water logged)
Move your buddha out from the place as shown in your photo. Allow the soil to dry up before watering.
The leave will con't to drop and may even drop more once you have moved it out. If after 1 week no sign of new leaves growing
back, you will have to check the roots and change the soil materials.

From your photos, I noticed that most of your bonsai materials are full day species except boxwood.

There are many parasites growing on this cucur attap. The parasite's root suck up nutrient from the main tree and eventually kill it.
Remove all the parasite, mosses growing around the stump of the tree is fine. Dry brush the stems, brush away any rotten dry wood, apply (brush on) 2 times sulfur lime solution to the draft or dry wood only to prevent it from rotting and getting disease.
As for the cascading plant, remove and pot it to a tall pot, it looks better in it.
Cucur attap is a full day spacie required good sunlight.
Space out your trees, you must at least have, say 1 to 1.5 ft space in between each of the trees in order to promote healthy grow.
If you keep your cucur attap longer in congested condition, the leaves will turn yellow and drop.
