This 2 black pine (most likely Chinese) bought from Min Ho Yuen sometimes early February this year .

Some styling were done to them when they were brought home.

After 3 months, these black pines shown remarkable adaptation to new environment, new candles and needles grow out well.
And so I decided to give them some shaping improvement ...
After making many considerations of which candle to cut and 4 hours of careful wiring and hard bending works... sweat.gif

At least look more like bonsai now. rclxm9.gif

Placed back to the same location.

My poor cucur atap. Hopefully it'll survive. As for the deadwood I plan to harden it & if the tree survive ill incorporate back to the it.

Hi Alvchin,

Attached Image

Not bad even without the dead wood.
It will be better if your cucur attap can have some foliage ramification works.

Ramification ... That's all missing from my plants :lol
My cucur atap had been unhealthy for a while. That's y I decided to dig right up to the root. The soil did not have much drainage I guess which causes the bottom to rot. Didn't have much roots actually. I hope it'll survive.

If I've not noticed wrongly, your soil might have problem.
If you have bought your cucur attap from Sanfong, you can notice that all Sanfong's cucur attap are planted with sand.

As far as I know, the only plant nursery selling black pine in Sg Buloh is the one beside the high way heading towards K Selangor.
Chinese name - AH Sui Bonsai Nursery. The range of price from rm400 to 1k. But the black pine there are seasoned and get use to our weather
and already got initial styling.

You are always welcome to join in to go to Melaka. Ming Ho Yuen is a nice pleasant place to visit.

Ya I bought from sanFong. If its sand probably the drainage would be fine right? When I took it off it's kind of like black soil but muddy wet. I guess over the last few months there has been more rain than sunlight. B4 the rainy season since probably Oct last year it was still growing fine. My first cucur atap & I failed to notice it's not in good health. Not sure it can survive as all the leaves starting to dry out.
