I think composition wise, both pictures are ok. As for the sunset pic of the tower, you should have cropped off the sign board on the lower right edge! The other sunset pic at the pier, straighten the horizon lah.. senget dy! Wonder if you're studying at LJMU  Anyway, do head to Southport (stop by at Frosby). You can get a day saveaway ticket for 4.30 pounds only. Very very nice! See my Flickr page for some photos from Southport.

Not much you can do when taking pics from bus, just remember to turn the flash off!
