Many people get S10-20 rather than C10-22 mostly because of the distortion. People thinking about getting fisheye lens but worry it will underutilized so they take precaution move by getting S10-20 for it's well known distortion, great looking distortion. If they dislike the distortion, they will probably go for Tokina for its' fixed aperture at f2.8 rather than getting Canon UWA.

How about Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM or Sigma 80-400mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG OS.

I've read many reviews especially on 80-400 saying that they are very good lenses.

At least, if someone considering C70200, the price for lenses I mentioned is not that far off. Am I right?

Never tried the one from M$ but for me, my favorite program to view my pics is ACDsee. It supports RAW but I don't know if it up until 450D. But it's a bit slow but still much faster than M$ I think. The fastest to view RAW for me is Lightroom. Easy, lots of options and can make minor adjustments to the pics. And I heard Lightroom 2 is out now.

I've used Adobe Bridge before and I don't like the clutter environment. It was a great program for workflow and keytagging before Lightroom is created. Now, Lightroom is sooooo much better than Bridge. Save me a lot of time on tagging and converting.

Erh, Saturation during PP or on the camera?
*
I hate saturation on camera. It makes my pics' colour off balance. I love to do PP so I do all this in PP.

Eneloop and the likes are good at retaining their charges. So its good for spares/backups. smile.gif
Yaloh. Need at least 8 more spares.  laugh.gif

I just need 4 2700mah batts and 8 high capacity alkaline batt for backup. All sufficient for my use. And for now, I never use the backup batts.

Seems like an overkill to me. Unless you've got 2 flashguns. Wait. Does he? blink.gif

Maybe. Or he just love to use manual full power flash and strobe everytime he press the shutter.

EF 70-300 USM IS vs EF 70-200 f/4L
anyone got review or preferences?

of course not the same reach, but USM IS vs L
who will win eh?
*
You are comparing lens with different optics. And in this case, of course the L optics will win. It will produce more vibrant colour, sharper when comparing head on. USM and IS is only features, which it is ok without but lens is all about optics. Whoever got better optics, wins.

Aiyoo..don't gaduh2 la. We are all here as family should support each other. Not condemning. Each one has their own preferences. Some like this. Some like that. Don't take individuality as a stand but a whole. Without family, who are we? I don't understand the situation so I can only give that as an advice.

So you two just please stop it or bring it outside, settle it for once and all. ok?

means, before go up, better get the camera 'dried' up, then seal in bag, go up, when temp a bit cold, take out...? like tat? i imagine i will snap snap along the way. perhaps a container in my bag with moisture absorber? cam to stay in that container when not used...

People always use zip-lock bag to equalize the temperature of surrounding and camera. I've read about this long time ago but dunno where. Try googling a bit and maybe you will find the reason and how to overcome it.

Hey, they are not even in the same league of glass quality. It's just a matter of budget. Low budget, get Sigma. Moar budget, get Canon.

Looks like 50D is out soon. Before it leaks at Canon China. Now, Canon Japan seems real too.

http://www.canon.icp.dog-cr.jp/products/ca.../50d/index.html

Google translate or Babelfish translate don't give much but it seems that many features from the China site are true, just addition of several mouth-watering pictures.

15MP at 6.3fps
HDMI output
VGA display
and most important, Digic IV is now out. really looking forward for its high ISO performance.

Added on August 24, 2008, 7:22 pmmanage to find the good translation for it.

Added on August 24, 2008, 7:23 pmAnd now people said that's a hoax. Not really Japanese Canon site.
