- a Flash - Canon 580exII Speedlite
- Ultra Wide Angle lens - Canon 10-20mm f3.5-4.5 USM / Tokky 11-16mm f2.8
- Fast Walkaround lens - Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 / Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM

Yup, just not as accurate. Partial metering should be good for portraits as it focuses more towards the center(spot metering-ish).

Small aperture is usually used. But, he probably uses an age old technique called "pre-focusing". Since MF lenses aren't hobbled, they have 2 things on them which AF lenses don't, a proper distance meter, and DOF markings, so, long before you want to walk towards a target, you can predict where your next victim will be when you snap, so you set the distance you like, and you set your aperture to give you some DOF to work with incase you predict wrongly. After that it just counts on your skill with your legs and timing.

Well, not always actually. One would be mounted with my 70-300 and the other with my kit lens. Cause I tend to see something from far and when I change lens, a wee bit too late, but carrying both at the same time is quite a burden, lucky I have the Lowepro Nova, where I can just quickly take out the other camera.
Yeah, I guess if you want to change, it may be a bright idea to get the 580 instead, where you can use the 430 as the slave. That's what I'd do...
well, technically, it also depends on the environment. Apparently, the Nikon did quite well on their noise reduction, which I have yet to see for myself.

Yeah man, actually I decided to only use my nova 4 when I need both body, and use the other bag when I'm using one body only.
