i have a question... i just got the w960.. Normally i would have experiences flashing the firmware, because i flashed my own O2 Atom. After looking at the UIQ, and looking at the phone itself. SHT im clueless on how to flash the firmware.

Let me tell you the condition of my phone. Basically, i just got it off a LYN forummer, the woman didnt tell me firmware got problem, the phone just shuts off suddenly. And when i connect it to the pc, normally double clicking in to the phone can go in already right? but i cannot. Shows some error, but when right click then click expore, you can access the folders normally. So this leads me to think that the firmware corrupt, thus i wanna reflash the firmware. (Yes i have tried resetting the settings to default but no avail). So this leaves me no choice but to flash it.

I googled here and there and all the terms i dont understand.

From what i know roughly, to get the firmware, have to do the update through the SE website. If the phone cannot update means i need to change it to generic. Correct? but by doing this firmware update, would i get a fresh new firmware like a fresh new OS? something like a just newly reinstalled pc?

any help appreciated =)

ur q is dat u just wanna know whether u wud get a fresh new firmware after flashing rite? so d answer is yes..everything will be resetted to factory settings..it's like getting a new phone or in ur words, like a newly reinstalled pc

lol thanks.. so my procedure in reflashing the software correct right? update the firmware through the se website.. if cannot update, then use one type of program that can change the settings to generic world? correct? just to be sure.. i always have this phobia in bricking something

i hope i can get an honest opinion from u guys here.
is this hp as lag as G900 and does it have frequent touchscreen malfunction as the G900?
and wat is the diff btwn 802.11b/g and 802.11b? I noticed G900 has extra 802.11g so does it mean it can access to WiFi better by protruding through the walls?

honestly..it lags..espcially when reading messages, and ur msgs is like 500++ but imo it onli get worse when phone memory is almost/full.when i cleared up some things it bcome a lil bit faster..in walkman player, it rarely lags..for me la..

idk bout g900 touchscreen prob but i never encountered any from my w960

with wifi g, it can have better connection to almost all wifi hotspots..for example as now, thr r some(including my home wifi) hotspots tht i cant connect to due to d wireless router onli support g..not both b+g.. CMIIW

If you updated your firmware and modded the G900...Lagness is not an issue..

Help Needed.

I was tying to install applications which can speed up my phone.
In the end, my phone calibration went berserk.
Now my touch screen is totally out of calibration. When i go to the calibration mode, i can't even calibrate.

So, end up reupdate to clear everything and even format everything to start all over again.
But now my problem is still back to the same. The CALIBRATION.

i cant even calibrate even though I format everything and update again.
Anything i can do to fix the calibration please?
Any information will be highly appreciated.

bye w960..im getting w995:p

this phone pissed me off is the touch screen alwasy problematic, sometime the entire screen irresponsive totally, sometime when u toucb left side, only the right side got response. is it my LCD spoiled? but some time it recover back, mos of the time it got no response at all..

how much now to repair /change the LCD?
