Modding UIQ fon like w960i, p1i, p990, and etc.

Ok, lets start with introduction of what can u do if you hacked the fon.

These are the list of what you can do with it.

-Speed Up Your UIQ 3 Phone!
-P990 Modding, GDesk

Actually there are other things it can do, but a few thing Im not sure how to do it.
OK. Please note this is another way to hack UIQ fon:)

1.Download capswitch, sis-instaler mod, Swiss Manager 1.7, and File Explorer.
2. Extract all, and install capswitch.
3. Install swissmanager pro or file explorer. *note- if swissmanager pro cant install, try file explorer, but swissmanager pro is more recommended.
4. Then, open capswitch and off the capabilities.
5. Now, copy installserver.exe into c:/sys/bin/*here
6.After completed all, restart your fon to make sure the fon refreshed with new item in it.
7. Now you go! U can install unsigned apps, access c drive and extract your z drive.

what? are u using swiss manager pro? go to more>settings>file> tick show ROM drive..
try to check the whole inbox..:)when this thing happen, the date of the message will accidentally change to other date. it happen to me as well..

hey..already mod my camera =). So far no problem, maybe someday ill post the video..huhu..but in my observation the pic quality is better..the video has more fps so it less lagg.

poor you...erm..modding camera, we only have to copy the given folders in c. If the folder already exist in c just copy the files in the folder to the existed folder in c..if we ovewrite the modded folder into c, maybe sumting will lost.. after all files copied, restart the fon. open camera and you find it in Russian language.. dun worry, copy pvcamera.rsc in z drive to c..erm. that overall briefing only. maybe post the full tutorial next time..very busy right now..huhu

Hi ya all, i actually wanna replace my W850 with this phone already, but a bit scared because a lot of ppl say the touchscreen is unreliable and easily damage.

Any comment about the touch screen?

i juz master reset my phone because i feel tat very lag till sumtimes the touchscreen cant sense. mayb because i dunno install software and simply install until it become very lag. Will ur phone lag or delay? can teach me which software to install and how to install?

oh...tq very much, after u install so many useful application do u feel got any lag or others problem? after instal the iphone lock will make the phone slow or delay? so far got anythings u dissapointed or regret to tis phone?

This is the difference:-


Follow the step


1) Download the needed files. Find it here..
2) please makesure you got C folder in that after exctracting.
3) copy the c folder into your fon via file transfer and usually i put it in d:/other. After completed, detach the cable.
4) Open capswitch and disable the capability then run swiss manager pro.
5) using swiss manager pro, copy the files into drive c. IMPORTANT!! Do not copy and overwrite existed folder in c or else u will ruin your fon system. Just copy the files and paste it in the same path in drive C.
6) then, go to z drive and find pvcamera.RSC in z:/resource/apps/ Copy it and paste in c:/resource/apps/
7) in c:/resource/apps/ u can see a file named PVCAMERA.R16. Delete it.
8) retsrt u fon and enjoy

thats old story b4 UIQ can be modded. after that, they only port walkman3.0 out from w960. same like they port out the g900's icons, sticky notes and torch light function

sound quality wise, comparable to Nokia N78/81/82/95 or not ? [using the same headset of course]

of course same quality...after some modding, maybe more quality.

W960i very leng zai, compare to N82
which is why despite N82 got better cam, SQ or S60, I still like W960
will the price drop further in christmas season ?

hey can the phone sustain physical damage from dropping to floor, little knock or beating or not? the W800i I using now is a real sturdy phone

want to ask.
how's the OS performance for this fon.
ex,if we use 4/8GB did the system slowing down o not
