i need to fix my frenz pc by today because he is leaving back to hometown tomorrow and i am stuck when i tried to reformat.

first problem is that i find it pretty weird because it does not detect usb keyboard and mouse before it enters windows. is there any solution to this?

2nd problem is that. i put in windows xp cd like usual when i tried to format other pc's. after loading for a while an error message pops up.

could not load ntkrnlmp.exe error code 32768. press anykey to exit

is there anyway to solve this problem? is it because of defective installation disk or hardware.

computer specs

p4 2.6 ghz
512 ram.
harddisk --> new just, bought

-For the 1st problem, did you attached the USB keyboard & mouse since the beginning of XP setup? If not, maybe the required driver haven't been installed yet (wait 1-2 minutes at the logon screen @ desktop, then it should be automatically installed).

-For the second, most 32768 errors are related to bad CD media and/or incompatible drives. Try a brand-name CD-R (not CD-RW, as old PC may have problem); or better, use an original Windows XP CD. wink.gif

Regards.

[UPDATE]

-A quick search through Google revealed that this is more to do with improper BIOS settings and probably failing RAM. Clear and reset the BIOS to the default setting first; if that's not helping, try check the RAM (get Memtest86+ v2.01 here).
