i got a question here...
can n82 xenon flash act as torch light and do SOS light?
*
well... of course no! As you said it is a Xenon Flash, not LED, so it can't function as torch light or SOS light.

Having this phone for almost two weeks already, overall the feature is great, but now I think I have to send it back to Telstra office for warranty claims.

My phone seems like a faulty unit, it keep crashing and show white screen for no apparent reasons, and whenever I try to use the music player to play some MP3, it crashed after a few seconds of playing. Now it even sudden restart itself when I just left my phone on the desk and didn't touch it all.

At first I tot it is the memory card culprit, so I bought another kingston microSD card to replace the original Nokia microSD, but the result still the same. I even try to hard reset the phone (using *#7370#) and still no luck. I checked my phone using Nokia Software updater and it show I already have the latest firmware (v20.0.62).

So anyone have the similar problem with mine? Or just that I am too bad luck perhaps... doh.gif

The problem start from day 1? No such problem so far.

The problem actually start from three days after purchase, at first it will only crashed whenever I use the Music Player, and now the problem become more and more frequently. Even sending a SMS or browse internet using WLAN also crashed, and worst still sometimes the phone just crashed inside my pocket and my friend tot that I put their contact into blacklist or whatsoever because they just unable to contact me. sweat.gif

seems like no one having the same problem with me, I think I must went to Telstra office next week, hopefully they won't take too long time to fix my phone. sad.gif

Went to Telstra Service center just now afternoon to claim for warranty service regarding to my n82 problem that I posted here previously.

When I told the lady who sit at counter about the phone problem, she seems like very blur and hardly know everything about hand phone, so she just tell the technician what I had told her and she ask me to wait for a while where they will check my phone first.

So I just wait patiently, and after about half an hour, the technician pass back the phone to me and ask me to test, when I get back my phone, I already know what they have done to my phone, they just re-install the N82 firmware (v20.0.62) but use different product code (we usually use NSS to do this). And I know my problem is not solved yet, as such an easy way I have tried several times b4 I sent to this phone to them. When I try to play some mp3 using the phone, it hang again after played for few seconds. I show it to technician and he blame that it is my memory card problem, I explained to the him that I have tried another Kingston memory card but the result still the same, impossible all the memory card that I bought are faulty.

So the technician is a bit unhappy and told me that not necessary a new memory card will not spoil, but he just worry that the faulty memory card will affect my phone bla bla bla... Fine, he is then took out the memory card and ask me to test and see whether the phone will hang and restart by itself or not, so I tested the phone again. Well, the phone does really hang and restart itself again without memory card also, I showed to the technician and he seems have no ideas why the phone still crashed.

So I left my N82 with them to let them check whats wrong with it, hopefully they won't drag my service too long and told me they can't repair because this and that.

will update more once I know about the repair progress.

u think so eh? lulz

pity tat guy doh.gif

I have a very strong feeling that the N82 that I bought is a defective model (faulty unit) from the factory sad.gif , and the phone seller don't know about it. So that's why got a lot of weird problem, is it still possible to get a new replacement for it if they can't successful repair even though my phone already two weeks since purchase date? hmm.gif

no idea, but thats based on my logic only .... not sure if its really rom or not.
*
My phone still under 2 years warranty , if the ROM or motherboard really broken, Telstra should replace it FOC right? Because it is not my fault at all, if they really ask me to pay for repair, I will ask them to close shop better.

If original set, u can get replacement. If AP set, then depends on the AP company.
*
It is an AP set, warrantied by Telstra, I bought it from Tingjie actually, one of the lowyat AP phone trader. I actually met him today, he also feel surprised when he saw me stand at the customer service counter.

This means your phone are from SEA or China, because from what I know is that one of my friend's N82 from Europe doesn't have those Chinese stroke printed on the keypad, but my another friend's N82 china set have it, some of the chinese strokes peels off already and he told me that it is not printed, but using some sort of tatoo method (dono hw 2 explain sweat.gif ).

Mind to tell us your N82 product code?? You can get it by remove your battery and look at the sticker on top of your sim card brackets.

mine is 0566174, google it and it is from SEA. tongue.gif

Finally I have took back my N82 from Telstra Service Center just now afternoon.

They changed the whole motherboard for me, as they told me that the previous motherboard is too problematic for them to repair and will take a very long time. So they changed a new one for me. rclxm9.gif Not really sure whats wrong with the previous motherboard, as the lady at the counter just told me the motherboard got prob

Now my N82 work flawlessly as it supposed to be. rclxms.gif

And thanks a lot to TJ (the lowyat trader who sold this phone for me) as he helped me to speed up the whole repair process, or else I really don't know how long Telstra will going to take just for repair the previous problematic motherboard.

lol... i tot the "nyek nyek" sound from the keypad are normal for N82 so I never bother abt it. Just that the sound is a bit loud when I type msg in sch library or at very quiet place, then everyone one are starred at me... blush.gif
