hi guys i found out something funny bout nokia phones lately
im planning to buy N82 n found out that the battery does not have the 20 digit code at the side of the hologram logo, whats more funny is that they've shown me the original set of nokia phones' battery are also missing out the 20 digit code at the side of the hologram sticker.

i've checked with 2 shops so far, another shop is importing from telstra company, same case for zitron and telstra batteries, all of them doesnt have 20 digit code ; even the original battery is stamped with zitron sticker etc.

could this be fake battery? can anyone plz submit a photo of their n82 battery for reference? thx

Why not? It works with Garmin.
The hologram can be faked too if I'm not mistaken. Difficult to check these days, but as long as the battery is just as good, I wouldn't bother too much. Even if you know it's a fake one, you are going to have a drama at the place you bought the phone (provided yours is an AP unit).

check this out...thr are specific areas to identify.
http://bbs.dospy.com/thread-1451089-1-1.html

i think the hologram can be counterfeited but u just need to make sure thr is 4 diff dots diagram when viewing at 4 diff angles...fake one doesnt have the technology to implement such graphics cuz it has to be laser-printed

i think i would just settle for the ori...370 bucks diff save hassle for possible problems with battery life like some of u stated...plus the seller oledi imported a set of n82 AP i think he'd not willing to do so again...

im insisted to buy from him cuz he's willing to trade in my SE P990i for 450 bucks...which is the highest offer i've receive so far

SE is not up to your expectation? Which model you are using back then?
*
i bought a p990i with a cheap price tag. It was HORRIBLE. it didnt even have anything to offer despite wad had been printed on specs sheet.
was crazy over the features but in the end the phone was a disaster. that phone has severe lack of RAM and too buggy to be handled...
In case if u duno, alot of p990i users r waiting for SE's firmware update to clear the prob but instead SE gave up in the end n released a last firmware a yr ago, mentioning tat they will stop addressing p990i's problem n continue their RnD with later models.
i guess during that time SE was not matured with their development of symbian UIQ yet...nokia definitely has a strong symbian fortress compared to SE's.

dun be skeptical bout SE's new symbian phones despite my review on p990i...i think SE has improved alot in symbian so far. biggrin.gif
However I wouldnt decide to go back SE's symbian system no matter how tempting their phones behave like, my horrible experience with SE's UIQ in the past has made me lost my trust in their software development.

Becuz of SE's bad mistake they lose another customer like me tongue.gif

Nokia is still the leader in symbian system I believe ; tats why i chose Nokia tongue.gif

it jus happens randomly...
so far i encountered twice today...i listen to quite alot of music these days.
not sure is becuz i let the music player keep running in background or not...will try close the app evrytime i finish using it n see wad happens next.

QUOTE(DeanKueh @ Sep 12 2008, 09:52 PM)

i noticed my n82 took around 1 hr 15 mins to charge full once the low batt warning pops. Is it normal or could it be fake batt. Mine is zitron set. Batt life norm around 1 day + including midnite standby n some moderate amount of music wifi n gps.

Go back and ask nokia lo. What do u expect? Compare to old nokia phone takes 2 hour more. 1 hour consider fast d la dude. Plus u use so many app sure the battery drain la.
*
im questioning the authenticity of the battery since it got charged so fast...not the usage...im jus stating how long my battery life could last.
anyone using ori set here oso having 1hr+ charging time?

i think the charging duration might be due to diff battery cell types...
i came across a chinese website identifying fakes for bp-6mt batteries
they stated that there are 2 kinds of bp-6mt...one is the one with silverish plating beneath the battery skin...2nd type is from samsung, without silver plating beneath the battery skin...u can check whr its manufactured...mine is samsung definitely...diff design outlook.. stated cell made in korea...

mayb diff battery cell produces diff charging time? hmm

Mine is around an hour too. But it last for quite a few days under below average use. AP set though.
*
ur below average usage means refraining from wifi, gps and music? jus normal stnadby n lil calls n msg?
