Anybody here tried to change the housing of N82?

Searched thru a few tutorials and found that it's quite complex to remove the current housing, especially the inner parts, worried that i might destroy the phone lol.

i saw the whole disassembly guide and u will nid the correct set of tools to remove the parts

let nokia/shop do the work and endure the risk wink.gif

Hmm I'm finding too..
Found at lelong.com.my a guy selling n82 ori ap ( from the looks sweat.gif  ) housing for RM65.
Include changing service is like rm90 sumthin,
my friend insist not changing it cause it will lose the "touch"of original plus void warranty.

I myself have disasemble the screen b4 but after the process,i feel it's easy to scratch ur phone
without the proper tools as u seen on the tutorial.better leave it to the trusted shops to do it.

The OEM version for housing definatly cost more than 200ringgit. And it seems that no shops in my area provide such service (or i haven't found one?), all what they responded to me was, "your phone still look nice, why change?" lol wanna customize cannot ar.

Comments from users who have changed their housing, freaked me out. decided not to change the bone frame.

i was able to change my housing successfully. but the camera no longer activates when i flip the switch to open the shutter. it seems that this has been a problem for many people who have changed the housing. there must be some hidden wire that connects to the shutter.

haha i changed the case myself the day after this was posted, so i just missed out on the info. didn't matter anyway, getting the casing off is easy once you get the hang of it, but removing the LCD to get to the screws and camera underneath cause me the most problems, since it was glued down, i cracked the screen trying to lift it. in the end i had to order and LCD online and now the phone is back in working order.

Have to say the camera seems to work ok for now. you just need a good memory or record of what you took out in whatever order

btw here is a pic of a custom back cover, blue N82 anyone? biggrin.gif
