hi...i'm a new owner of a N82 as well.....still exploriong the phone...symbian is really new to me as i have been using a Nokia 2600 previously...so this is a big thing for me...haha...

btw, why is it when i want to use the dictionary, it says, "Dictionary word information missing. Install word database". I'm sorry if its a noobie ques, but i really know nothin bout it....
*
yes need to install the database first, google for it, but the dict seem useless for me lolz

QUOTE(-Teddy- @ Aug 20 2008, 12:26 AM)
Meaning you have to install a word database first, I guess. I'm using a third MSDict, "ahem". Not a bad one after all, just Google.
*
I am using MSDICT with 17different database (got japan dict tongue.gif). SlovoED with voice. Nokia Default dict, and another New nokia default dict.

guys, can share a bit why u guys buy Nokia n82 instead of Nokia n95?~~
=)
*
Because N82 got more RAM than N95.

128MB vs 64MB....... N95 got memory issue, always not enough RAM, as for 8GB, the file trasfer rate is dam slow.... even if i wan to use as portable storage, the transfer rate is killing and lock with 8gb, who knows i wan to buy 16GB smile.gif. Xenon flash is another thing biggrin.gif

practically hack ur phone and install binpda root cert..... then sign all unsigned application with binpda root cert, so u can install it.... no need to request cert from symbiansign~

QUOTE(Jeffery @ Aug 20 2008, 05:47 PM)
Guys, I know this might be illegal but you guys might be the best to explain these stuff.

Why there is sign and unsigned stuff with symbian phone? What are the difference and how do we know? It's be bothering me quite sometimes. I would have read the chinese forum for explanation but streamyx nowadays doesn't allow me to surf hong kong forum that explain those stuff. Anyway, it's explanation only rite? No harm. What is signed, unsigned, hsipda, binpda and all those unknown terms. Anyone?
*
Signed means can be install in ur phone or all phone. Unsigned means havent sign and cannot install in phone. Its a new security platform by symbian. Streamyx sux cannot browse many hk forum >.< anymore since last few months. binpda is the most famous cr@cker group for symbian till now.

Anyway who the f**k cares bout warez, all the moderator and staff sleeping, they wont even check into this thread and even someone post games and they don even bother to delete.

You might want to Google it instead of asking them here. A closed N82 thread isn't pleasant.

hi there,

Would like to ask something related to GMXT. I followed all the procedures as stated in the installation of Garmin Mobile in post #6.

However, when i opened the GMXT application, and went to view map all those, it doesnt show any map.

Anyone knows what's wrong with it?

Thx.

I never install any maps, I just update from Nokia Maps 1.0 -> Nokia Maps -> 1.2 -> Nokia Maps 2.0
The map data are available in my phone since i bought the phone
Is it possible the old map datas crashed with Nokia Maps 2.0?

I had tried to clear off all the files in folder Cities in my memory card and reinstall Nokia Maps 2.0 again

Now there is no maps data in my phone and i try to open Nokia Maps again.
When i trying to connect to internet using Nokia Maps, the phone hang.

There will be
3G sign(I checked with the manual which mean UMTS packet data connection is available) appear
--\
\--

suddenly always below my network coverage bar and the phone will hang later when i try to open/exit Nokia Maps 2.0.
*
better reformat whole phone~

Finally I have took back my N82 from Telstra Service Center just now afternoon.

They changed the whole motherboard for me, as they told me that the previous motherboard is too problematic for them to repair and will take a very long time. So they changed a new one for me. rclxm9.gif  Not really sure whats wrong with the previous motherboard, as the lady at the counter just told me the motherboard got prob

Now my N82 work flawlessly as it supposed to be. rclxms.gif

And thanks a lot to TJ (the lowyat trader who sold this phone for me) as he helped me to speed up the whole repair process, or else I really don't know how long Telstra will going to take just for repair the previous problematic motherboard.

great~
