Okay, this is my first attempt on modding and it's my brother's rig. its only cheapo casing.: top view: so what i'm trying to do right now is put a handle on top of the casing so we could lift the casing easily (?) next, i removed the top cover: and mark it for drilling: get ready for drilling Two holes done:-) attached the handle: two handles attached: completed: i think the handle is strong enough: by the way, this is on-going project. next, maybe top hole for fan.. any suggestion is appreciated. by the way, just asking- what tools do you guys use to make side vents?

Wow, interesting So where did you get those rice cooker cover handles? I hope you didn't take them from your mum's rice cooker hee hee! As for side vents, depending on the size of the holes. If it's just tiny ones you can use a normal drill and steel drill bits. If you want to make a big azz hole you might need a hole cutter drill bit, found in most hardware shops. But do bear in mind, steel casings are very hard to cut, unlike aluminium. I think it's best you get a jigsaw for cutting a hole into steel.

Nice start. Keep up with modding.
If you wanna make a good cut for the side panel, use jigsaw or dremel.

QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Aug 3 2008, 02:41 PM) yeah the inside one not too big not too small just nice yeah, cut thru the inside 1, and add acrylic with hole for fan (maybe for 2x 8cm fan is good), and u can spray between these 2 lines to make it looks like a frame, just my suggestion Added on August 3, 2008, 5:30 pmQUOTE(hazardcradle @ Aug 3 2008, 04:54 PM) hmmm...it's hard to find acrylic board here in Kelantan... need to find it first before cutting..or it will sia-sia...wasted try asking at picture frame shop, i think they can sell it to you, but know la how much if in kelantan... last time i also bought from picture frame shop but here in KL la This post has been edited by skylineGTR: Aug 3 2008, 05:30 PM
