Smashing car windows are getting too common nowadays. Not too long ago, a lady friend of mine was caught in a traffic jam along Sprint Highway somewhere between Shell and Eastin Hotel at about 8pm, two motorbike thieves used a crash helmet to break the passenger side window because they saw her handbag left on the passenger seat. Lucky for her the thieves tried in vain to break her tempered glass window. She honk and honk but other motorists ignored her, maybe because it was too dark and they could not see what was going on.

I just received this forwarded email from someone working in a lawyer's office and was asked
to circulate it to as many people as possible.

PUSH-POCKET IN KUALA LUMPUR

I am sure you all have heard of 'pick pocket'.
A new trend 'push pocket'.
Read on... for your own good

A few days ago a new type of crime has surfaced in town.
It goes something like this:-
Somebody slips a hand-phone into your pocket,
sometimes it could be just a wallet with
an identity card and a few ringgit.

A few minutes later, the 'owner' comes up
and confronts you, the 'thief '.
He makes a big commotion that you stole his stuff.

You, caught unaware, are then pulled aside by the
'owner' for a settlement. You are intimidated and threatened
that if you do not pay up the police will be brought in.
If you pay up, this 'owner' lets you go..
If not, the police are brought in.

Another strange thing is that there always seems
to be a 'witness' to your 'theft'.

I am told this often happens to foreigners at
the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
or even at LRT trains.
Given that you're 'guilty until proven innocent'
as far as the Malaysian police are concerned,
I understand some poor people are in jail for
these 'offences'.

At the KLIA, the 'owner' throws his hand-phone and
wallet with the few ringgit notes into the luggage
trolley of a just arrived passenger.
The drama unfolds a few minutes later.
The real culprit has easily convinced our Malaysian police
to arrest the real victim (if he has not paid up the 'settlement' demand).
This is a very serious matter.

This is another form of extortionists operating in broad daylight.
They are disgusting criminals who will do anything
to rob and steal. The sickening part of the whole
scenario is that unless you pay the 'quoted settlement' money,
they will put you in real trouble by calling the police..
The real culprit gets back his hand-phone
and wallet but the real victim ( i.e. could be any one of us)
is thrown into the police lock up and charged in court.
So do be very careful,
otherwise you may end up as a 'thief'
as you have no way to prove your innocence.. sweat.gif

God damn it, last night me and my bro on the way back from work, decided  to stop by the local pasar malam  near my house, nothing exposed in my car, but when i was back at home and open my car boot, our bags were stolen! consist of 2 laptops inside! zzzzz few months of my work gone!

We only spend less than 10 mins in the pasar malam... and they manage the pick the lock and steal the bags, really cannot tahan my 3 months old laptop and my new targus bag gone like that!

Aiyah! Didn't you know that hiding away your laptop in the car is of no use? A China made device could easily detect a laptop, camera or cellular phone even when its hidden. This gadget could be purchased for about Rm300.00, it was highlighted in the press media on several occasions.

You certainly learnt the hard way. Sorry for your loss. shakehead.gif

My car window was smashed in broad day light while I was having lunch and my car was parked opposite the place I was eating. This happened in taipan, usj, Subang jaya. I ran after the guy who smashed away my car window but he manage to get away using a hinda city car. I took down the number and made a police report but the car they guy was driving was stolen. At the end of the day, I was the one who lost because I had to pay for my busted window. What's the use of lodging a report when the authorities don't do anything about it? Snatch thieves and burglars are getting more and more brave because they know for sure that our higher authorities are not going to take any actions. More petrol cars and policemen should be placed in this kind of places but you can see them in the mamak lepaking there!

What is happening to this country? Crimes rates are escalating by the day. What are the politicians we voted and entrusted with doing for us Malaysians? We, the taxpayers are paying the salaries of the police force and what are they doing to protect us from these criminals? mad.gif

On November 8, 2010, a group of youths were playing basketball at the USJ 4/1K playground at 6.45pm; 4 Malay males with parang came in 2 cars - a Blueish-green Proton Waja WKU323 and another a light green Honda CRV WGA9327 threatened the youths with parang and robbed them just before sundown.

Imagine our youths could not even have an outdoor games with friends within their own residential playground without the threat of being robbed or kidnapped. sweat.gif

Thanks nomen! After following your pointed thread I went to wiki the 'Mat Rempit'. Guess what? There was a write-up on them! I'll definitely steer clear from them.

Your are welcome DanceToTheBeat!

This is the definition of Mat Rempit I found in Wikipedia.
A Mat Rempit is a Malaysian term for "an individual who participates in illegal street racing", usually involving underbone motorcycles (colloquially known as Kapcai) or scooters. Not all Mat Rempits are involved in street racing; some of them perform crazy stunts for fun, such as the wheelie, superman (lying flat on the seat), wikang, and scorpion (standing on the seat with one leg during a wheelie).
Mat Rempits usually travel in groups and race in bustling city centres on weekend nights. In recent times, Mat Rempits have been linked to gangsterism, gang robbery, street fighting, assault, vandalism, theft and bullying. Most motorcycles used by the Mat Rempits do not meet standard specifications, or have been modified extensively for greater speed, or just to make the exhaust noisier.
Additionally, some Mat Rempits do not have valid motorcycle licenses, do not pay road taxes, and ride stolen motorcycles. A growing number of housing estates have also been turned into racing tracks. It is estimated that there are about 200,000 Mat Rempits in Malaysia.

On nearly september last year,my house got robbed, me and my brother was inside the house. What really happened was, approximately 11:30am on monday, while I was still sleeping (just came back from a trip a day before, and it was really late) Btw,i heard some noise from downstairs or not,i am not so sure since i was sleeping.Sounds like some heavy thing being left on the ground or smth. However i ignored it until the 3rd time i heard it,i decided to have a look. While i am walking down to the stairs,ps:i couldn't finished the steps,i saw 3 guy went in to my living room and 1 of them saw me.Right after that,i quickly ran back to my room and shut the door. They bang my door really hard as intended to enter. So i quickly telephone 999 while my brother is holding the door.Waited about 30 minutes int he room,i carefully opened the door and checked room by room and area around my house. And you know what? Our respected police haven't arrived yet! What stolen was only CCTV's recorder.Soon after the incident around 5 minutes, police arrived and told us this is not the first time.My logic was,if this is not the first time happened, why shouldn't they increased petrol or watever. Are you telling me,it's fine not only you that got robbed? FTW

It is very unlikely because all the Taman(s) in Cheras are known "hot spots" especially Tmn Midah,
Tmn Cheras, Tmn Connaught, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Bandar Tun Razak, Bandar Permaisuri and
Leisure Mall vicinity. These named areas had numerous mugging and snatch theft crimes involving
motocylists with parang gang in recent years. You may like to read more about it here:

QUOTE(X3RXUS @ Nov 13 2011, 06:52 PM)
House break-in next to my house today. Earlier, I heard people calling out next door, thinking they're my
neighbor's friends but turnout they're testing to see if there's people in the house. Seeing no respond,
they prised open both the porch and house gates and ransack the house. My neighbor's son came home
to see his house gates and door were wide opened and saw a man with a parang in hand ransacking the
house.

He quickly yelled out and that startled the intruder. The intruder tried to slash my neighbor's son neck but
got his hand instead. The intruder immediately ran out of the house into a waiting car outside, He broke a
glass panel of the door, causing a loud crash. My other neighbors and I quickly come out to investigate and
saw a car sped off.

Seem like this is one of a tactic burglars are using today.

Be careful robbers are everywhere. Btw, where is your location?
