You guys really got nothing else better to do

Discuss about photography techniques la. Not discuss about the models!

LOL! okie...

Well, what I learned is that you need:

1. External flash
2. Flash card to bounce
3. 17-40 lense (basically wide with little zoom)
4. Wide aperture to clear the background (f2.8 - f4.0)

Then...you'll have to hone on your communication skills to befriend the promoters so they'll relax a lil more. Otherwise, you'll get some of them stoning at you or worst, staring at you. LOL!

Oh yeah... and we need to cover all genders - male and female. I got a blog commenter who pointed I should have a part 3 of my PC Fair photo series but have a little more guys. So yeah...

If you guys have a 35mm F1.4 or F1.8, it will be great on the APS-C. Just zoom a little with your legs and you can get from nice portraits to small group shots with little problem.

Most importantly is to be friendly to these promoters and never, ever took a long time with them. You can have a short conversation around 5 mins or less but longer than that will not only annoy her boss but may annoy herself as well.

Most importantly is be considerate. Ask politely, snap, get contacts if can or ask what product u selling, then leave politely with a smile, and lastly dont forget to thank them!

Does this count as something: As in, show that you are interested in what they are selling, not who they are? Because the ones at some of the booths actually piqued my interest (I am SERIOUSLY looking for some of the gadgets sold, like video-capable portable media players and stuff)?

i think you have one of the better series here..better WB, sharp and good color tone..

i didnt vote at all, cos there's no tracy in there.... how can you have a competition where the best dont compete ?

Wow..actually cant believe that one is old tracy if u never tell me.Really gigantic of differences.

The girls are pretty but they really deserved better

Suggestion:

1) Leave WB to auto or use tungsten WB. Then shoot in RAW so that it's easier to fix later. Since the lighting is pretty bad, I guess PP to fix is unavoidable.

2) Take note of that shutter speed! Use high ISO if need be. Or flash. Or both. Noise can be fixed later, but not blurry shots. If don't have speed light, use on board flash. Actually, speed light might not be that useful since you'll have to fire straight on anyway because there's nothing to bounce.

you know what.. When I went to PC Fair, I was already bored even before I got there.

Why?

1) Boh Lui (no money)
2) Boh ming Gia bey (nothing to buy)
---> Refer to #1
3) Boh Ming Gia Kua (nothing to see)
---> Refer to all the pics here. All see already before go.

The only interesting thing for me was the P1Wimax trial, but too bad for me leh, my area not in coverage.. sigh..

I agree with Viking.. Talk about photography, not about the models.

They are also human. You too won't feel good if people openly talk about you and critisize you and what not. (and some-more archived on Google cache for all to search in 10 years time and come back to haunt you.)

You may think you're anonymous, but you really aren't. What you do on the internet is being monitored. Its just _not_ your time yet.

I just wonder... why must the PC fair be held at KLCC? Why can't at Midvalley or any other places?

Precisely, who are you guys to comment on the look of the girls. If you feel that they don't look nice/sweet/sexy to you, just ignore the picture. Nobody wants to look ugly. Have some respect to others. This sub-forum is for you guys to post pictures and comment on the photography skills not comment about the models. You may however suggest the models how to pose so that the picture appear nicer.

Unfortunatelly the majority of the kids here will either dont understand what u saying or being ignorant here. I myself took some of my time n share the pics i have but there are some kids who boasting their gf is one of the girls and some flirting occured. Very lame and dissapointing to see that
