from what i know, nissan known their best in high ranking safety features.. even the old nissan use rear absorber bumper... the new sentra still hv that feature until know...
i could say, nissan is the most less problematic car compare to others.. (eg toyota, honda, etc) |

Compare with altis 1.8E/G. yes, the fc is comparable with a 1.6 car.. just some note, if your parent is elderly, they will appreciate the comfort and space of sylphy..probably look and peformance becomes a secondary factor imo. |

Actually, I would like to ask how is the Sylphy engine? I have seen it being used on both the 2.0L X-Trail and Teana. Some buyers in the Teana discussion board is skeptical of this engine not being capable enough to handle the load of a heavier body.
X-Trail 2.5L went missing and only have the 2.0L using Sylphy engine now. |

It's a MR-engine that was co-dev with Renault and Nissan.
Been around for almost 5 years in production. Engine was detuned to ~134hp with 193Nm, along with a well developed X-CVT transmission. For the 1st gen X-trail, it's the same engine but with a 4-speed transmission. the X-CVT was only used along with the current X-trail model. From tech paper wise, it is evident that Teana's kerb is around 1450kg vs Sylphy's ~1240kg, for the SAME engine specs will have lagness in pick up. Hence, the v6 2.5 would be a better buy to compensate this. still it's a Nissan, where reliability counts. The basic question is what you wish to find from a car... At the moment, what I read is that the sylphy has the best fuel efficiency 2000cc engine out there, thanks to the X-CVT. The new DVVT Altis with Super CVT transmission has no data from users at the moment. Perhaps better...wouldn't know....but for the price, Nissan is lower. for the same cylinder models. Nissan Sylphy ~115k -lowest Toyota Altis ~ 132k -lowest My opinion test driven Sylphy 3 times, .... the torque is good enough over the kerb weight. Space as well. Just that Nissan Sylphy has a chassis that doesn't have good looks, eventhough it drives well for my need and price. It will be interesting to get a chance on Altis 2.0's new Super CVT and see how that goes.... |
