Current price of ytl power share RM 1.70. My worry now for the generous dividend issue will cause the mother share to be adjusted around RM 1.62 and hence the warrant B will be adjusted to around RM 40 SEN ONLY….

Sell the warrant now and buy back at RM 40 SEN ?

That is if they dont acquire Power seraya, the price may come down to adjust for dividends paid.

Plus if the U.K. cuts interest rates some more then the Pound will likely go down as well. Might even test 5 ringgit level.

All in the next few months don't look good at all.

Sell all the warrants? and buy later?

Personally I would always have some investment in this counter and never sell completely.

But I have reduced it quite a lot.

Cash is KING cool2.gif

The reason i am still holding my warrant is :

The moment YTL power still have 9 billion cash in hand "YTL POWER warrant B " have quite a big opportunity to soar. Once the acquisition news is realease i will sell off no matter what tongue.gif

Unsettlement of Windfall tax levy....

That is the risk of having business in malaysia....Even one decision can took them about months or even years.....

Thats why i am not expecting ytl power to expand their business in malaysia....

This raises some serious questions about YTLPOWR latest quarterly results. How can they claim to have suffered a drop in profits mainly attributable to Windfall levy when this news seems to indicate the IPP's have only made some limited payments todate and are trying to stretch payments over a two year period.

Who are they trying to hoodwink??

How much levy has been paid?? As share holders we should be informed!!

According to the quarterly report, they've already paid theirs. And no other payments required or expected throughout the year.

Don't forget the IPPs they are talking about also contains other IPP in the country, not only YTLPOWER.

YTL Power’s 10.78m new shares to list Tuesday

KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Power International Bhd’s additional 10.78 million new ordinary shares of 50 sen each arising from the exercise of the 2008/2018 warrants would be listed and quoted on Tuesday.

These were part of the 2008/2018 warrants issued at an offer price of 10 sen per warrant pursuant to the offer for sale of up to 2.20 billion provisional rights to allotment of the warrants.

The allotment was based on one warrant for every three existing ordinary YTL Power shares of 50 sen each held on May 15.

The exercise price of the warrants was RM1.25 and the period for conversion of the warrants into shares was from June 12, 2008 up to June 11, 2018.

Still got doubt about these warrant conversion need to dig out more... Does it means after listed then you can enjoy the dividend...? I think that should be the case

hey, just a noob question about warrant. Do I have to buy mothershare to buy its warrant?

do I have to convert warrant to mothershare to sell or I can just sell the warrant itself before expiry?

Warrants are bought and sold independently of the mother.

Yes,keep an eye on the expiry. Those with expiry coming up soon are very risky.

For your information YTLPOWR-WB expires in 2018.

YTLPOWR-WA expires in JAN 2010. Check with your remiser before you purchase any warrants.

A small mistake when buying, may end up with wrong type of warrants. laugh.gif

Warrant are normally for trading purpose only which you foresee that the mother share will have a potential to soar in maybe few weeks or months time. Then only you buy the warrant. For long term not advisable as you might not get any dividend if the mother share is giving out any dividend....

For example

YTL POWER - RM 1.73
YTL POWER WARRANT B - RM 0.50

If mother share raised 5 cent = RM 1.78
Whereas warrant B is RM 0.55 CENT...
The % you gain is higher which is almost 10%

Guessing only lol need some expert to verify

Decrease of interest rate as ytl has piles of bond

RM 2.2 billion redeemable bond due on 2013 which current placed under fixed deposit waiting for future acquisition.

Recent generous dividend announcement of 8 sen per share....
