16:10 is usually meant for LCD monitor , while 16:9 for LCD Tv .
The difference lies in the amount of designated pixels , basically the ratio of total pixels spacing out . For example 16:9 had 1280(16)x720(9) and the equivalent resolutions for 16:10 is 1280x800 in 16 to 10 ratio amount of pixels .
However , the current output for most 360 games is 720p , which is designed for 16:9 LCD TV . LCD monitors with 16:10 will have slightly stretched image and couldn't make use of native resolutions .
In short , the 16:10 resolutions will benefit LCD monitor user , matching native resolution . But .... , in real world , I don't think there would be much different .
