Nice headlights, using machine or by hand? Nice ride too smile.gif

Had a chance to "restore" a 6years old headlamp Kancil today using PlasTX. It remove the yellowish and rough surface easily, i go over several times..hand rubbing for 6-7times in 5minutes.
*
Seems like the Kancil not only went thru a simple headlamps restoration... U did a full detailing on it?

You got Sharp Eyes..Bingo, correct. How u differentiate, the images white balance and contrast not so same..
But Not full detailing, only bonnet, side fender, headlamps, others are left untouched. No time..

Judging from your pics, the bumper looks darker and wetter and the paint does look rejuvenated in the after pics. We have another car crazy fella here biggrin.gif Nice having people like you to come here and share your hard work with us, appreciate it...

Hey, how come u got 2 bottles of DCS step 2 polish biggrin.gif

This is what i did today... just a testing on the hood tongue.gif

user posted image

It's a 7 years old ride with 158,000 KM on it. Clayed the hood 1st, then treated with DCS step 1 and step 2. Then i proceed to divide the hood into 3 parts and try different LSP on each of them. Upper and middle part were wiped with a sealant, lower part were applied with MG DCS step 3 carnauba wax. Will try to layer a carnauba wax on the sealant after a sufficient time had passed to allowed the sealant to cure properly.

Waited about 12 hours to apply another coat of sealant, then tomorrow/later today will layer DC3 on top of the sealant.

But frankly, sealant produces more clarity and reflections are deeper but less glossy compared to carnauba wax as seen on the pic in my previous post. Oh yea, it's been raining pussi and b*tch lately... Have to detail my car in the car porch.

Btw, nice job ralf. Love your products collection notworthy.gif

It's sealant => wax. Carnauba wax will evaporate over time, therefore it's not advisable to layer a sealant on top of a carnauba wax.

Not sure about this, but i think NXT tech wax is a form of polymer sealant without natural carnauba wax in it.

Sealant first, allow it to cure, then wax.

Completed exterior detailing today. Took almost 3 days with around 6 hours of work each day. All done by hand, no machine, which is very tiring indeed sweat.gif LSP applied: Autoglym Extra Gloss (Sealant)

Reflection on the roof is almost as clear as the windscreen at certain angle
user posted image

Cloud reflection. The hood has MG DC3 carnauba wax applied on top of the Autoglym sealant.

Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection(EGP), I bought it for Brunei $22 at Brunei, only 325ml capacity sad.gif

Will re-wash the car again in 3 days, then i'll do the interior detailing and re-apply the sealant and see how it goes.

Yeah, approx 6 hours per day. Claying alone already took almost 4 hours, washing and drying around 2 hours sweat.gif

Clay for 4 hours.......:S.......need that long or not?? :S.....how many times you run the clay over one surface???
*
The car had never seen a clay from the first day i got it until recently. It's been 7 years biggrin.gif Well, clayin those hard to reach area such as the window frame, underneath/beneath the spoiler takes a lot of time. And the doors too, even after like 8-10 passes, re-mould the clay and did a few passes, the dirt is still there. And i was being too careful with clayin as to not inflict any surface marring, that's why i takes forever to finished claying tongue.gif

Oh, forgot to mention that 4 hours including tea break as well biggrin.gif

EGP, this sealant/wax contains cleaner or not?
The DC3 Carnauba wax on top of EGP, do you notice any differences?
*
EGP contains no cleaner, it's a pure sealant and must be applied on a treated surface, ideally clayed and attacked with DC1 and DC2.

And the DC3 above EGP, the paint does look wetter and glossier. Some minor defects were masked too, dunno why EGP sealant tends to highlight defects on my paint. However, DC3 tends to mute the metalic chips(is that how we call it?) in the paint, and the reflection aren't as pronounced as the EGP coat alone. So far these are the only differences that i can describe.

Btw ralf, u tried ColorX before? Is it good enough to replace DC1 and DC2?

Really envy you guys at west m'sia, can get those detailing products easily. Even the Parkson at my place here sucks, not much MG stuffs available. Luckily there's one paint shop here that stock up quite a number of MG stuffs smile.gif

Oh regarding the EGP, why would you want to buy it when you already had a M21? I've never tried M21 before, not available at my place here, so no comment on that. For now, i'm still monitoring the effect of EGP. Read some online reviews, the EGP is well known for its durability, some even state that its durability surpasses NXT tech wax.

That's what i'm talking about. Tired as fuk to diy car maintenance, but the end results are very well worth it.

Regardin the nxt 2.0, hopefully mg resolved the durability issue, and i might consider getting it next year after i finished the EGP smile.gif

The headlamps on my car is already 7 years old. No sign of yellowish stain, but i hope i can make it looked better. Friends already tempted me to change to a pair of projector headlamps but i'm not interested, prefer original parts tongue.gif

Oh, you sure AutoSol works on plastic headlamps like Wira's? If it really does, i can give it a try. I got a lot of AutoSol here biggrin.gif

Allow 2-3 months for the new paint to cure before applying wax.
