buddy - waxing is very similiar like painting - u need to prepare the surface prior laying down the last layer
imagine u paint on a oily surface? dusty? rusty? peeling? any nippon or glassurit will not last

do you remove yr previos wax? or u just apply a new one

the key of a good detail (that bring glossiness is still surface preparations - 90% prep & wax is just 10% to complete

polish remove all surface ABOVE contamination - try this - Clay & washing with Power clean * maybe  further wipe down  with IPA & now u wax......
works????? I doubt - if the 1st layer has all the above mention contamination how le???? 1 layer is enough
the key is applying regularly (just like the apple we eat - averagely age between 3-4 months (how can this fragile soft & thin skin with stand against mango - pineapple - durian - papaya ??????? what is the secret ???? ta da

get something is so easy & effortless to apply & you can do it so frequent & get yr investment protected

(yr car need more than any wax & coating - it has to be balance with the regiment of discipline of a routine weekly wash & followup with a monthly wax (best doing yrself) will outlast any coating - nano - bla bla bla

* another myth buster - some claims the applied 60 layer of wax with a virgin hand & 3/4 twist - strokes of tai chi

thats is the recommendation of alll wax company (megs ke, swiss wax ke)
