Oh yea. sorry for the wrong info. its an orbital polisher.
I've been using my MF cloth to wipe away the wax after applying it with the polisher, Can I use the wool pads to wipe it off?
Or are the wool pads for something else?

The manual doesn't say much  sweat.gif
*
HI BRO
no worries , arent we all still learning......wipe off after wax we usually term that buffing off wax

micro fibers is the best cos u wouldnt want to take any chances of scratching it

wool pad usually for cutting...more aggressive...the orbitor pads are term as bonnets (as they are worn on it) \

i am trying to get hold a place & organised another detailing session ...why not PM me ya

keep it spinning & keep it up

Under some light can see light swirl and scratch. Also some water mark, heard vinegar can remove water mark.
Haiz... Just Kit wax and Fusso Coat it yesterday

ehh bro thanks for yr pics....need day light pics & not night club pics

& u can only correct what u see & dont when u dont

QUOTE(m|ng @ Jun 6 2010, 11:48 PM)
Another question guys
after I detail my engine right.. what sprays are there to protect it? I cant just use normal dashboard spray right?

Cant find any engine protectant nowadays. seen it before.. but not anymore
*
which part? plastic trims???? what spray are u refering

many of those u buy off from shelf is crappy stuff...the moment u spray on. the very next thing u feel ...its is all oil & like suntan

a good interior protectant not only uv protected but also oil free...so that when u wear u white sleeves u do not get any oilo transfer to it

QUOTE(m|ng @ Jun 8 2010, 02:12 PM)
Well basically the whole engine. engine block to gearbox to plastics.
I read that the car from the factory has a layer of oil coating to protect the components from oxidizing. but when you wash the engine, the degreaser chemicals will strip those apart. I think for the plastic parts I can use interior protectant right. but what about the metal parts?

try megs gold class vinyl protector

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS - before you visit malaysia

Climate?
The climate of Malaysia is hot and humid throughout the year, the highest SPF Sun block is recommended, Temperature ranging from 21°C (70°F) to about 35°C (95°F). Occasional rain during the period between Oct~Feb helps to bring down the temperature & usually last than an hour. Humidity between 75% and 100%!

Clothing?
Light clothing is recommended, golf cap, sunglasses & umbrella will reduce the heat of the day.

It was another hot afternoon, 32 degrees Celsius , humid & stuffy day

This is a brand new Suzuki Swift sport, fully import from Japan, which delivered to my friend. Good looking little ride. But later we discover a can of hidden worms – paint defect on a new ride, paint transfers…..more & more
user posted image

I got to know him, through one of my public detailing session & he contacted me to him detail her.

Upon meeting up & viewing the car at night, without much street light....only with my little torch light, i discover patches of paint ..on the front engine hood. almost covered 1/3 of the right hood, only found out after his 1st wash & without realizing during the delivery time, he already complaint to the car sales man (of this defects) & he actually drove this to Megs detailing centre (they even did some wet sanding to demo to the owner) but not complete restore
what happen was ...the hood was repainted that quaterly & the car sales claims that it was some overspray......OVER SPRAY WHAT????? some paint flew from the car besides???? make no sense

so last sunday, he came over to my place & since another forumer called me ( i invited him along & gave both some private detailing lesson)

Car Detailing Lesson Guide
1. Washing
2. Cleaning – claying
3. Correction – paint defects, (removing swirls, water stains, over sprayed paints & minor scratches) Rotary hands on
4. Polishing - to restore the gloss
5. Protecting – opti sealing, wax

obvious paint defects with some underlining issue

user posted image

patches of stains only on the repainted area

Although- most fine scratches & stain disappear but……………….
After wash look good but it resurfaces again

now the real issue........... over sprayed vs resprayed???? pics...

Hello all the sifus and pros here.

I just got my new car and wonder how and what should I do to maintain the car paint?

My driving habit:
-At night I park my car in a complex car park(next to my staying apartment).
-I drove to work and park under hot sun, and drive back at night.
-Last time I used to send the car for car wash for rm7-rm10

some told me I should wax my car at least 3 to 4 layer asap once I got the new car. there r oso ppl told me wax the car every month, every 2 month, every 3 month or once a year.

will the wax be removed if i send the car to normal car wash?

hopefully i can get some answer here

Last year I had the opportunity to detail this church van, as prepared her to transport VIPs, but a year later....it need to be detail again

http://thedetailers.blogspot.com/2009/08/polishing-van.html

Reason being heavily used for transportation & so huge to look after....

Due to the numerous posting, i have fequents call from many forumers..asking me how this & that.....
for those who happen to call me, i usually explain it in details
learn to recognised the the current condition (what damages or stain it has) & how to get it detail (DIY correct it)...
as i have conducted many classes , hoping other may be empowered to do it themselves

How to clean, dress your car interior the professional way:-
or alternative you can spend some $$$ send it to others to clean it...one of my friends just send her Altis to clean her leather seats to Cxx Ixxxxxxxx cost her 350 just to clean the seats & she paid 650 to subscribe as the member.......
@#$%^^& ..if the car can talk he will tell you how it was treated..LOL

here is what you can used, to get the job done...remember the Merz S class filty interior, the Ferrari F 355, BMW M3 convertables, Camry - smoking driver damages...i used the following stuff to detail them

Tools required...
1. Brushes - get plenty various brushes.....ikea, diashio, 100 yen shops must be soft bristle
hard brushes for wheel brush for tyres only,
soft painting brushes for emblem rims (as it is clear coated) trims, interior
long brushes for wheel arch accesability,
soft hair brushes for leathers,
soft plastic bristle for fabric - seats & cushion, dash board, car seats,

tips....please do not use strength, check periodicaly of the cleaners, do not spray cleaners directly on any surface but brushes..to spread evenly rather than to agitate any surface...when the cleaning agent etched in(please please be extra gentle )

2. Cleaners
Meguiars APC - good but expensive
alternative Osren MPC
OPT POWER CLEAN

I use Meguiars Glass cleaners

( i prefer not to use All In One ....2 in 1 products) most leathers cleaners & polisheer & conditioner has 90 % Cleaning & 10 % cleaning - so what do u want to clean or condition ???)
the professional only choose the individual cleaners & individual
conditioner... as by their experiences they know what work best

FAB Breeze ...ma ma mia products..good on fabrics (only)....please rinse off with damp cloths well

alternative...try to get hold of industry strength carpet cleaner such as...
Johnson diversified....Taski 1 ...excellant product...PH safe & 3:100 part of water dilutions

3. Micro fibers
I used different cloths for different parts of the car, (we do not use floor cloths on our face)
same thing over here too......
2 for drying the car
1 for washing
2 for polishing & compounding purposes
2 for interior
old microfibers - pls dont throw ...recycle reuse them.....wheels, rims, engine compartment,
lowest car skirt area....most dirty & greasy area

TIPS - washing the dirty micro fibers i used dynamo, fab is cheaper...most of the time i will spray
on aPC
soak over night - best to scrub, do not use softerner on yr all yr micro fibers (as it will lubricate
yr fibers & not allowing it to absorb any dirt)

Micro fibers single strands is like our single strand of human hair but divided into 16 parts...each
parts acts as to hold & traps dirt

4, pails....at least 2 -3 of them....one for the seats rinsing, another for dirt...door jams, side panel
rinsings, my last bucket for dirty side step, pedals

5. STEAMers if u can....steam it up...less harsh as compare to the conventional cleaning...as it
uses water steams at 3 bar preassure to clean...alternative way to clean

6. dressing - Leathers Meguiars Aloe leather conditioners, Optimum leather protectant ...alternatively yr expensive lorenzo...cleaning kit...it is the same but very expensive indeed

7. plastic & vinyl - please do not apply tyre shines here....or else it will attract dust & transfers to your sleevs....i say u spend a little & a bottle of Meguiars gold class interior & will last u for years)

nope on sun of the gun la, wxxxx, Kxxx, Txxxx Wxx la...later you will not want their after effect dirt

lastly you have to prepare to get dirty inorder to clean, the way up is down

cleaning begins with OSREN MPC 10:1 dilutions
user posted image

remember before

after MPC...& brushing

user posted image

dash board before.... slimmy ...... slippery..most of all oily...suspecting from local consumer grade dash board dressing board ...aka tyre shine...long white sleeves would had some stains from it

TASKI 1 at work. brushing of gently..aggitate

wiping away rinsing with damp cloths

now a clean dash awaiting to apply dressing for protect..UV coated dash

my gratitude & thanks owing to my youth....without them 1 need to spend hours..but with them 45 minutes to get this huge things detail

i brought my youth out for tea & had a good fellowship with them

once again thanks for viewing....hoping u find your way & approach...feel free to give my method a try & let me know your results

no prob bro

u must detaill, washing it carefully but u cant wax it till 90 days...as your paintis not cure yet!!! not properly dry

as wax or sealnt contain solvent & it is bad for your newly painted surface ...as the bottom layer not cure...

ONR is the best...wash without percaution & it has a polymer layer to protect it till 90 days ready for wax

POLISH!!!! why???? is there any damages such as swirls, water stains or scratchs u want to correction/removed..pls dont get this preception wrong

We had another encounters last Sunday, although I could hardly lift up both my arms & shoulder is so stiff like a concrete……but detailing who can resist….

Instead of FLEE-ing …I flew to the crime scene….. one of which my buddy got a rotary & he started correcting his wife 13 years old oxidized car……

Let me share with you more…if you would please

Remember how lighting plays a big part in Car Detailing , as most cars defect only been seen from a strong lighting, what professional detailer want is to imitate Sun light but without the heat, as you need a cooling surface to work your compound & polishes.

Bette Midler : From A Distance Lyrics
From a distance the world looks blue and green,
and the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
and the eagle takes to flight.

My apologies...for not making a straight forward post....as it was written more to the general public...which most of my fellow countrymen ...

1.most believe their ride should be scrub in order to wash

2. most detailing shop does not have proper lighting...and each time they brag about ...how good glossy & shinny their work...butnever was shot close up. when it compared both lighjting side by side...

Now you can see the different..

3. almost all the car that was detail...some how ended up hologram....as free decorative gifts...

neverthel;ess..i owe my sincere thanks to all who read thru my post

Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement too

Cheers buddies

cool....you can do it yourself also ma....not just once of half a year affairs....but a regiment of a routine maintainance

like a weekly wash & monthly wax will last yr paint for tens of years

few things for you to consider
nothing worth or not?...but wiuth that money you can keep your car weekly wash & monthly wax

if u give a fish...it will feed for a day & if u teach him to fish you will feed him for life

now the million $ question

who will maintained it for you???? at the edn of the day no bidy cares as mush as the owner does

does they do it out of love or $$$$

unlike u the owner u would care as she belong to u...
car detailing is not just one day thing

is the regiment of weekly wash & monthly wax to keep yr car going for years

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I had this wonderful opportunity to be able to help my buddy to beautify his interior....but there is TIME & COST effective ...limitation issue... he needed the ride in less than an hour.....

most commonly problem for any germans ride.....my bud thought Malaysia is too hot...so hot till the knobs in his ride melted....as you dont find in any other ...as they are not rubberished

common know issue in other German Marque Machine too....esp in E60s

intervention plan as following:-

1. wash & dry within 15 minutes - ONR No rinse wash

2, wax within 10 minutes - Optimum Car wax (spray, wipe & walk away)

3. interior detailing -
*door panels - clean within 10 minutes ( Optimum power clean - & brush off)
*dash & seats quick wipe down with a damp Microfibers 10 minutes (highly recommended weekly)

*leather & interior protected by Leather protectant plus (another spray, wipe & walk away) is good for all interior plastic, vinyl & rubber - 10 minutes

total time spent 55 minutes
