Hmm.... Best to meet up to see how you are correcting the paint. Many variables to consider. Are the swirls there already or only after you polish?

not to say not GOOD...but what is the effort required? 2 hours? 6 hours?

i used to have this to detail my car

now only with this

a 20 minutes car wash & 5 minute car wax

fmost of the car wax is make of carnuba ( a kind of palm tree & needed to be dissolve by petrol base distill) but Alien Car wax is

QUOTE(ShowTime;1064030807)
Sometime ago I asked Chris Thomas of OPT USA whether can OCW/Alien Wax be used for other uses... say CPU casing? He said its possible... it just that he reminded me to make sure to KEEP the microfiber cloth damp at all times to prevent static electricity! This is a DELL computer casing that uses a single stage spray-on paint without any clear coat. Some of us know that OCW/Alien Wax works well on modern day paint system(2 stage...base coat and clear coat). So how would a wax like OCW/Alien Wax react to it? Well lets see.

I first cleaned the casing with a dampen(with plain water) general purpose microfiber(non plushy ones) since its just purely light dust. Casing age is about 2 years old.

Product used... Optimum Car Wax/Alien Wax of course.

Just 2 light squirts. I didn't press the trigger all the way full.

user posted image

Noticed that there is more beading on the left side compared to the right side. I did let OCW/Alien Wax cure for 30 minutes. Temperature indoors is about 29C-30C.

user posted image

NON Abrasive... No black paint transfer. Those marks on the microfiber cloth is basically just OCW/Alien Wax or just water(I did use the same cloth to wipe off the water after doing a 50/50).

user posted image

No stains in the cracks.

user posted image

No unscrewing of casing required. I did unplug everything from the back of the CPU so I can perform the application.

BTW, do note to use common sense when trying to mess with electrical equipment using some form of liquid, if there are vents on the casing then its best to spray OCW/Alien Wax onto the cloth and wipe it down onto the casing. Application takes seconds. For the water spraying demo, I did make sure that that side has no open vents. Also I did be very careful not to spray water into the casing gaps too much.

It works for me but for others, at own risk.

Thanks for watching!

Guess I won't be waxing until Christmas.

I did not really mean not good, but as my previous reply is to earlier on comment that one of them mentioned after they wax their car their car still getting dirty.

Waxing is a layer of protection, however like I said, weather such as acid rain combine with sun light, wax can deteriorate and melt. And when it melts and dry, it stains your car.

I mean the stain build up within a week, which could not be washed away with ONR, I wash at least once a week.

Procedure: clean with power clean -> wash with ONR -> apply wax

After a week with 1 or 2 days raining, done, stain built up again  rclxub.gif

not to worry buddy, we are in malaysia highly contaminated infested with acid rain country - the amount of rain & heat - does stains the car...I myself driving a white car

check this out - acid rains affect white cars

even new car not spared
new white car damages by acid rains & water spots

notworthy.gif bro KC.

thn I'll hv to look harder, Im not from selangor btw..
wondering can I fit any of the polishing pad on an angle grinder .. angle grinder is really easy to get

also dun want to spend too much on 1, I'm asking becus I wanted to polish my headlamp.
1 of my headlamp is a bit ( only 3 years  laugh.gif ) yellowish, another side is fine tho, clear .. but I really cannot stand looking at it ( not balance ) so I went sanding it with 1000, 1500 thn 2000 sand papers, and thn hand polished with a headlamp restorer thingy from mall. ( was looking for plastic polisher + scratch remover at first but can't find  doh.gif )

after all the effort, it actually became worst. maybe the oxidation is from the inside ?

taping the side of the paint & chrome parts.....ensuring it is protected when sanding take place - safety come first

1. after taping non affected area (3-4 ply of taping)
2. SANDING begin Lube with ONR (invest in a sanding backing plate - i trim in smaller for these curvy areas)
2a. Begin with - 1500 grit
2b. followed with - 2000 grit
2c. Finish off with -2500 grit

an evenly sanded pic

Restoration continues with polishing off
Opt Hyper spray Compound - OPT double side wool Pad then Step down to 3" wool pad @ 1500 RPM rotary

finishing off with OPT Hyper spray polish - OPT double sided foam pad & 3" polishing pad @ 1200 rpm finishing at 600 rpm

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

how to keep your white car white, protect from fading or turning yellowish

I have countless text, calls, email....asking
how do you keep your white car white? well it is not easy but truly rewarding

I used to use 99 soft but ended having hard muscle ache polishing wax, alot of effort to remove water / rubber stains......on the paint

begin with the most contaminated area of the car..... Wheels

but now with the safest Multi purpose cleaner - so effective to degreaser and yet so gentle to be used on leather.....just dilutes according to your need.....

with the help of

I use 1:3 alien clean/water for rims (only uses 25% strength)

1:5 alien clean/water for painted area (17% strength)

lower area - is the last area you would like to wash (so pls begin with the right spot)

washing is always from TOP to bottom

look at the amount of contamination picked by the wheels!!!! esp asbestos from brakes & metal flakes from the rotor disc

remember - let the car cool down (best in the morning or evening)

This car is strictly ONR

its completely diffrent......Meg QD cost rm 40

ONR 32 Oz cost RM 80 ....which you can make 164 bottles of 500ml QD

I was wondering, is Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer same as Meguiars Quick Detailer, as KC used OID to pickup stuborrn dark stain on the white myvi. I tried to use quick detailer, could not do a thing on removing dark stain
*
Yes
where as OID is Instant detailer......which contain polymers that will clean and enhance your paint glossiness & protect it against further contamination

excellant product i use every weekly to protect my uncoated car

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Sep 27 2012, 06:09 PM)
Time to switch bro?  whistling.gif
You are correct, polishing is like sanding, you use sandpaper on wooden surface to remove rough surfaces, so do polishing used to remove a very thin layer of clear coat in order reveal a new bright side. That's why we have Opti-Coat to serve the purpose though, the best coating and protection you can get smile.gif

And for the clay, can't find it in your place? There is plenty here. Let me know if you need my help.

yupp Zerosp is right in this....you should see his meticulous eyes and detail ........ saluting his passion

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Oct 1 2012, 01:25 PM)
ONR is very simple to use. 1 bucket of water and 3 pieces of MF cloth and you get a very clean car.

As for the coating, so far I can only see Permanon brand that is offering DIY package. Optimum opti-coat no DIY, and have to sign contract with the distributor.  rclxub.gif

But guess you know as well, that in order to coat, it is advisable that all paint defect should be removed first.
