QUOTE(arj @ Jun 20 2011, 09:07 PM)
KC, whenever you talk about using ONR, you mention about using only three microfibers. Is three really enough to prevent any marring to the paint? On a car with light road film, after doing a panel the MF turns black already. I find that I need 5-6 MFs to ONR the whole car. If you find that three is enough, I don't mind at all using less cloth hehe...
*
yupp only 3 will will do

drop the 1st microfiber towel in the solution and wash your vehicle with the wet towel. Dry each section with the other 2 microfiber towel. There’s no need to rinse! The lubricants and substantive polymers in the formula will protect your vehicle from abrasion as it safely cleans all vehicle surfaces. The polymers encapsulate dirt and cause it to drop to the bottom of the bucket. No Rinse Wash & Shine actually cleans the wash water as it cleans your vehicle! And it leaves your vehicle super slick, like it was just waxed!

the dirt on the MF accumulate, now you can rinse off in the bucket of onr solution
(another good trick is - washing technique
from top down (top to bottom) and gliding left to right or up to bottom & not circular like swirl like to inflict spider webs(not using force - like scrubs)

a true breakthrough in car care. It’s a multi-purpose product that serves as a rinseless wash, a quick detailer, and a clay lubricant. the best we don’t have to be a chemist to formulate your own excellent car care products; just follow the directions on the bottle! Plus, this product does not require rinsing.

QUOTE(SothysSaleShop @ Jun 21 2011, 03:52 AM)
from personal experinece, My usage of MF depends on the situation that i have at hand, i believe KC's 3 MF advice is just a guide for us to at least have 1 to wash & 2 to dry...things can change & the variables are: how big is your vehicle, how dirty is it, and how many MF you are willing to buy for car wash...also boils down to your own way of doing things and feeling comfortable doing the car wash

i have to admit i still hose down my car before i use ONR although unnecessary, i am still old school as i want to get rid of dust, sand & dirt from the surface before doing the wash with ONR, after washing i will just wipe dry without rinsing..and i am comfortable doing it this way... and using 3 MF is just about right for me..
*
thanks buddy
thats very true

the next level of detailing

QUOTE(muyo;1063577464)
just about 2 weeks back i was trying to wet sand my entire surface using 1500grit - 2000grit sandpaper to remove orange peel. the wet sand process was bad at 1st cause im not using any sand block, my fingers applied different pressure on the surface and caused really deep scratches (samurai sword slashes around) after i purchased the sand block, i found out i can sand evenly with really nice haze on it and start to compound using M105 like usually how i do on other people cars. after compounded with M105 + wool the clarity appeared in seconds, like usually. then thought moving to cutting but i used halogen tripod to check it out 1st, i was really got shocked when there is swirls appeared on the surface. i told myself which steps i did wrong and caused swirls? really tiny one and look ugly. i stopped immediately and do more research later on cause i have tried many times and still fail.

user posted image
this was took with led torch light

user posted image
really tiny one that only can spotted under the sun or halogen light

after all the research i did on the net, i found my problem the swirls is actually micro-marring, maybe cause of the M105 is too abrasive. alot people commented how to remove it bla bla bla, make me so confused. i only believe one thing which is using non-abrasive polish to remove it and i decided to give it a shot. i choosed OHP with a double sided foam pad.

My car is badly damaged by a no name detailer. I  got stubborn stain that cannot use nail to remove as well. Now my car got spot of scratches and even the car 5 glass is scratched. I suspect the use of something abrasive like scotch-brite. I know paint is still salvageable if using buffing machine but how about the glass?

hi bro

the issue here Water Pipe Corrosion Due to Grounding Problem, a galvanic corrosion problems

Corrosion is the gradual wearing away of a material by its environment. Dissimilar metal contact, oxygen, water, and debris can all generate pipeline corrosion

good news is that you can minimised, by not washing yr car under the sun, wipe dry as soon as possible

lastly wax regularly

Come to join my hands on soon & will teach you how to remove it

Hi detailing sifu's  biggrin.gif

need your advice and suggestion

I have to leave my car in college from 9 am to 4 pm under the hot sun for 5days in a week
(Already three months now) sweat.gif

because of this i will wax my car every week after a wash with ONR.

but now i noticed that the plastic parts had faded. only the plastic, other parts are still okay.

I do wax the plastic parts as it is also applied with body paintwork.

Any way to rescue this ?  Very heartache to see my car like that...

Example :

Picture taken from google
*
my ride has been parked under the open air 7 twenty four

it is ok, but what you really need is seal, you may just want to OC wax - polymer base instead of carnuba (leaving u whitish residues)

plastic parts with clear coated paint - is ok to wax

to delayed the ageing process - look at the porsche head light - worn out by road side car wash previously

now that you know

we can make a difference

Hi KC, is it ok I use OPC 10:1 to clean the car paint before shampoo? With that dilution ratio, I don;t think it's strong enough to remove the lsp. I wouldn't think about doing it every wash but every 3 washes. I notice it also works great on cleaning up the windscreen.
*
OPC as shampoo
this is what i do - you dont need to re shampoo yr car
what i suggest that you first wet the car & use a damp MF spray on 1:3 or 1:5 to clean & rinse off immmediate
do njot let it dry - as said in the instruction

the far best & one & only power clean in the entire world, both safe for car clear coat (exterior ) & same time for interior
so cost effective that - you can dilute to suits your need - clear coat safe -

use neat or dilute 1:3 parts water for engine
dilute 1:3 or 1:5 parts water for interior - cleaning - leathers, vinyl, rubber plastic
dilute 1:5 or 1:8 parts water for exterior paint work - cleaning - best at removing bugs stains, rubber stains - wax residues on plastic, emblem cleaning

best usage for removing stickers - bugs stains - birds dropping - wax residues - stains on plastic or vinyl

this is the only ultimate you ever need for car detailing - i never leave home without it

I concur with you KC.It's a very, very good product. Heck I also use it to clean my golf equipment and shoes. My son uses it to clean his shoes as well!!!. His response "Awesome!!"

Not advertising for the product guys, but it really works if you follow the dilution ratios.

Actually, come to think of it, if one follows the above with regular/weekly washing , may not need to polish at all.

Thanks KC!!! biggrin.gif

This is a clear example of why we do what we do and why our vehicles are the envy of others. While I have enough products to outlast several lifetimes it's something that I enjoy doing and all my vehicles are a reflection of my obsession.

Awesome writeup KC and thank you for such an informative post!! :dblthumb2:

QUOTE(silverfox;498992)
There's nothing better to put on a new car than Opti Coat. Best decision I ever made in terms of protecting my car against the elements...NOW throw in salt, harsh North East winters, and it becomes even more important.

This is one of the first reviews I've seen on Opti Coat over the LONG term...makes me smile even more...seeing is believing. Thanks again Dr G...and your awesome staff.

QUOTE(LegacyGT;499052)
KC's- Great long term review   I am amazed!

I have just recently (as in the past week) discovered the joys of Opti-Coat, it feels really good to have a visual representation of how much protection my cars are going to have over the coming years.  Thank you!  I will need to save this thread for future reference to show others.

QUOTE(UK-Matt;498963)
Awsome thread, this should be shown to any of the haters that say waxing/sealing is pointless. Think i'll be getting some opticoat from AG, shame its not sold in the uk.

QUOTE(fishnugget;498964)
