Now car detailing become an addiction.

I thought only ICE will make me an addict.

Even clay also have different types, so if I use PG Clay and clay twice, will it clean better??

DO NOT WIPE DRY if the car's been driven. Just rinsing with water alone also won't remove much of dirt on the car so, on both occasions, when you wipe, you'll be picking up dirt with your cloth and moving it around the paint....SWIRLS!!!

Best would be, if you're really anal, proper wash with shampoo or blow (with a blower or course) the water off. This is where a healthy protection/wax comes in handy as the water beads would/could be blow off and leaves the surface *almost* dry....

How long can a wax last? Just realize my spray wax only for 3 weeks, in between 1 wash with ONR.

Or my method of application not thorough enough?

Nah, I don't believe you~ tongue.gif

I realized that I washed my car with half the amount of recommended car wash shampoo for a 2 galon water, no wonder my MF pad is so freaking dirty.

Let's me try Einszett Spray Wax on the other car and will feedback on the result.

I thought KrisMas is going to be the new thread starter, what happened?

Einszett Spray Wax....wanted very much to try this one...but budget too tight lately...saving for 'something special'.... brows.gif
Anyway, reading the descriptions, it's suppose to be just a 'topper' so 3 weeks durability as a stand-alone should be very decent. But what you can try is, after using it on the car, pull out your car under the sun to 'bake' it for a couple of hours. I find that doing this with Meg's Ultimate Quick Wax can stretch it's durability (beadings).
Well...they didn't actually lie. 'Up to' 12 months can be anything between 1 day to 364 days.... tongue.gif
Aiyoyo...I know this would come out sooner or later. But still couldn't manage to find the free time lar. Anyway, I'm always known to be VERY slow so if anybody else want to start the new thread please go ahead la....don't mind me....

That something special, if you mean big foot, then I am in too.

Just come up with some simple info first, then edit/add-on from there.

Just to add. The machine you saw/tried the other day was the Flex 3401VRG vs Rupes LHR15 & LHR21. You didn't take any pictures ah?

That hood is not really in a "proper" condition for me to be amazed by the effect of polishing.

If I can have 1 or pinjam me before CNY, then I can detail my friend's car.

This thing really is nice to use, handling is much better than the FLEX. Then we did managed to compare the sanding mark removal results, to me as a noob, I am impressed lar.
What more, use 1 hand also can. laugh.gif

Now the question is, who want to buy my unused wool pad, polishing pad and adapter from Detailien????

I thought the distributor got take photos ma, ask him to share lar.

You won't be able to get the foam cannon/lance (one that's use with a pressure washer) anywhere around here. But I know a couple of places (local) that sells the foam gun (one used with normal garden hose). Any brand would do cuz there's only one or two manufacturers that made them and performance are *almost* the same.
*
The one with garden hose aka foam gun, I saw it in ACE Hardware also. Is it not the same? From the picture, it looks the same to me.

Actually I have a very funny question, why all shop detailers like to show that they detailed those expensive cars?

They don't clean or detail more common cars, like Honda City or Toyota Altis meh??? (For example lar)

And my question is not pointing towards specific forumers. I am not a sexist.

you go to Armani they dont display their underwear at the window right?
*
Malaysia no, UK and NZ yes.

And I don't really see the relevance here. It is the result of the car that they detailed ma, not the car.... no?

I think I saw another detailer show off an old car, where he put shine back onto the old fainted paint. That really impressed me. Wouldn't that impress potential customer more, because that show that he is skillful and freaking patience.

Commercial detailers - one whose main aim is to make money, bar none.

Meg's NXT car wash is one of my favorite car wash. Remove LSP? Get dilution right and it should be minimal. I think any kind of washing would remove some amount of LSP since it acts as a sacrificial layer. Also, some of the so called slickness in some LSPs comes from oils/polymers/etc in the sealant/wax. Some amount of it would remain after the first LSP application and would get washed away after the next car wash. However the LSP could still be there. Some ways to gauge life of a LSP is from so called slickness feeling, water beading and water sheeting. Some LSP feels slick (especially the non water based), some not. Some beads water (hydrophobic), some sheet water (hydrophilic) and some a combination of both. IMO, to tell if it is really there, you would need to compare it against a totally cleaned panel - preferably at least a light polish. Water would usually sheet slowly (almost as if water is sticking to your paint) vs a LSP which sheets water faster on a panel without any LSP. Then again a contaminated panel with traffic film might bead/sheet water too. Don't worry too much, just maintain a good detailing schedule and top up your LSP every so often. Smoothness of the surface does not come from LSP but it being free from embedded contaminant. Clay it when necessary.

LSP that sheet water is like Permanon. Surface does not feel slick but LSP is definitely there. Most LSPs out there are usually hydrophobic. See the following video I made quite recently... Front bonnet left and right side has Duragloss Aquawax and center Permanon Diamond. Duragloss Aquawax is a quite good water beader where else Permanon is a good water sheeter. Usually after a rain the Permanon side would have less water droplets left behind and hence less water spots. Some people would think the center panel with Permanon is dead without LSP which in fact it isn't at all. Does not mean it is bad. Then the DG Aquawax side being hydrophobic sheets water off so quickly but sometime leaving some water beads behind. Both are doing its job in protecting the paint anyway.

Now I use a quick wax every 2 weeks after a car wash. Nothing to worry about...

Suggestion for shampoo: DG 901 Car Wash Concentrate (you can get the smaller bottle to try first, I think the size is around 500ml).

But, if you plan to use a spray topper after one or two washes (or three even), any shampoo from those reliable brands would do just fine...Sonax, Mothers, Soft99, Optimum, 3M, etc....(I'd stay away from CarPlan or Blackfire (?) or those 'al-cheapo' ones though....hehehe....).
*
I need to buy something soon, 901 and maybe 431 (Do i need this? I have 403 already). Then definitely need some coating gel. (Finally~)

Also, spray topper... Is it something like what I have done as QD from ONR?
If yes, any brand for reco to have a stronger cleaning effect?

I normally spray on the mf instead of the paint, unless I'm doing it on still not-so-dry (I was going to say wet) paint. And I also don't see any need for the buffing part when I was using UQD, except for when the mf side became damp.
Haven't use 431 before, but from the way the other guys are describing, sounds like it's a degreaser to me. This should work better (or faster) on cleaning engine bay, tires and wheel arches (daun pisang...). 403 is an apc for general cleaning purposes.

Spray topper...something more like OCWax or DG Aquawax. If you want a 'strong' topper, I'd suggest Megs UQD - the stuff has really strong cleaner but unfortunately, it don't last long. But if you want a strong cleaner, very very nice beader and longer lasting (and not to mention more £££) - DDJ Supernatural Red Mist drool.gif

Don't temp me with $$$, I own a big foot... Most of the people think I am a crazy fler, "what the hell is this newbie doing?"

QUOTE(eohl79 @ Feb 25 2013, 04:47 PM)
Contact Dodo Juice @ KL on his Facebook. Who knows maybe cheaper... smile.gif

DJ Red Mist a bit harder to import as it contain solvents but cleans well. DJ Red Mist Tropical should be readily available from what I know.
*
Ok, since Dodo guys never in LYN. I would like to kutuk them. Why can't they setup online shop and sell? The shop is in Setia Alam, right? ...or they don't have any proper shop?

Relax bro. Setting up business is tough and not easy. Well I think he has his priorities and plan. You still can get Dodo Juice stuff from him.

I was just joking. biggrin.gif P.L and me worked in the same company before.

Just that krismas said they open stall nia, later I go confront him with krismas accusation. All the blames on krismas.

Will take some shots and share with fellow detailers on Dodo Juice KL. (For newbies like me out there, they are not selling juice. laugh.gif)
