if you have done a prolong PG sealant - let me know our results? dont be shock
Less is more - refering to the blade you used - as capiche mentioned - even a slight worn off micro fibers (suppose to be soft & tender ) but it can still smear the paint -

Check it out yrself - if you have friend  who has a black car & ask him to use the blade for a couples of weeks - ta da will comes out

our actual car paint is coated with clear lacquer - and it is  with harsh washing acidic only 2 mil of an inche (divide 1 inche into 1000 part & 2 part is the thickness of yr Clear Coat)
then imagine
what happend when it is constant bombarded detergent la, good morning the terry towel & blade la

given a little bit time - prematurely worn off
My 11 yr old kenari paint still glow & my 2 face paint still rocks - all because i do my own washing & now with ONR it is so effortless - ask those who has tried them........

Oh, I have never use PG sealant before. In fact, the only thing I use from PG product line up is their shampoo (and some MF cloths)

I think I am not going to use the blade anymore la seeing how bad it is for our car paint. I am driving a black car myself and is now using Turtle Wax Ice cleaning system, the perfect car detailing for noob like me tongue.gif

Bro, I am using the Mr. Clean / Perma Glass MF. The premium MF is quite expensive..
Actually that wiper thing is good for lazy bum hahaha....

Added on March 22, 2011, 7:24 amBtw bro KC, what do you mean lesser is better, less is more?
Thank you

actually u can try buying hyperkleen MF at Ace Hardware.. I currently using it.. so far it doesnt instill any RIDS... but it really suck big time when comes to wet usage.. the water absorption is downright terrible..

On Mr. Clean MF.. i cant comment as i nvr used them before.. nevertheless, i have use their applicator foam pad before... the surface is quite hard and spore it rather rough..

noob here but i did my own every week & in fact, i've the passion of indulging such vigorous hours in my car. Below are my weekly chores, 2 cars, 1-silver & 1 pear white:
1st step: mequiar's nxt shampoo (if budget restraint, i'll use magic 101, wash & wax)
2nd step: mequiar's quik wax (if budget restraint, i'll use turtle wax, wax it wet!)
3rd step: mequiar's swirl x (for my pear white color, i'll use caplan, tar remover for whole car body!)
4th step: mequiar's ultimate quikwax (sometime using simoniz instant wax, quick shine)
5th step: mequiar's interior detailing

all the above are spray nozzle type except shampoo & swirl x for time cutting consumption as all by hand only. the gleaming result won't last for long but at least i wash them both every week w/o failed!

i am ready & open for feedbacks/commments to improvise my result even better. pls share smile.gif

i have use PG sealant during my early years of car ownership, i choose it because it's quite cheap ( usually come with claykit also, now no more dy) and work wonders to seal any scratch mark made by my neighbours cats and easy to use..

but the problem with this PG is that after using it for some time, i noticed the colour has fade a lot especially under hot sun compared to other similar car( same year& colour) shakehead.gif

Since then i start using NXT2.0, and i think it less effective to seal scrath mark but as long as it doesnt eat my paint i'm ok with it, and another thing is a bottle of NXT2.0 really can last long( bought it since early last year, still have another 1/2 bottle, use 1 time a month)

Looking foward to try meguairs polish & wax next..

really? how come the PG sealant can tear off the paint, maybe it polymer's surface made your car look faded in bright side.
i also using nxt 2.0 and this the best car wax on market.
Almost a month now and water beading still there with wash twice a week and maintain with quick wax. and compare side by side my car are less swirl than other's black car, this made me proud! biggrin.gif

LOL I have yet to try meguairs range of products and I believe they are top class in the industry.
However I don't think nxt2.0 should be considered as the best based on what you said there (eg. water still bead almost a month with 2 weeks once washing).

This is because with TW Ice Liquid Synthetic Polish, the water still beads despite after one month old with every week washing and without quick wax.

But it good for consumer

it's because when using the PG, i noticed my MF cloth had turn darker (my car is dark blue), my first thought maybe it's just a dirt, but to my suprise when i apply this PG on my father's white car, my MF cloth had white color on it, hence the conclusion ..

water beading is a very subjective issue to be discussed honestly..

beading is only when the water is 80% spherical.. anything less than 50% spherical is not beading anymore... so on and so on... and the other bla bla bla theories.. biggrin.gif so u see.. diff ppl has diff opinions..

and, washing concentration, pH and strength all are diff from each users n brands.. all manufacturer has diff formulation..

it is just unfair to compare diff product, diff preparations, diff wash n diff so on.... wan compare? standardised everything except wax used.. smile.gif

for this, how would u rate the beading?

by what u mention above 50% spherical it's water on top is it like ur picture right?. But sometime a lot of dust the surface still can resist and made water bead easily

Hi all, do you normally use quick detailer or quick wax after washing? I know they have different functions, but which do you prefer? I use the detailer and it brings out a great shine.

Personally, I use quick wax (megs UQW) after washing. Did UQD once, not really fond it cos the protection goes off real soon.. whereas shine level, hmm.. i'm a little bit over UQW cause it gives the carnuba looks, which I like A LOT.. biggrin.gif

all this are solely on UQW and UQD.. other QD I not too sure.. but after ONR wash, the shine is great!

However, between UQW and Aquawax... I prefer UQW more. smile.gif
