hi,

have been using the the Meguiar Gold Class wax and it is finishing soon....the Gold Class doesnt really fill up the swirl marks so i plan to change to another wax soon...

for my next purchase, i plan to get the Meguiar 205 compound, Ultimate Paste Wax and Meguiar M21 sealant to top it up.....

what do you guys think about the M#21 sealant?....from the review, it does wonder to swirl marks and it can last quite long.....

Anyone knows where to purchase all these 3 items?...i hope to purchase the 64oz bottle but i dont seem to be able to find these items locally...sad.gif

Haven't tried M#21. Is it a filler or swirl remover?

#21 accd to Megs is the pro version of their NXT2.0.. it is just being made in the way that it can be apply via machine... however, most ppl claims it has better durability than NXT2.0

first of all, #21 does contains filler, but u shud not use this as paint correction.. a compound/polish should take care of this, not sealant... dun expect it will hide all sorts of imperfection..

IMHO, u dun need both ultimate paste wax (UPW) and #21... UPW is combination of sealant+carnauba... If u really plan to proceed with sealant then carnauba layering.. then purchase either UPW OR #21.. then another PURE carnauba like #16.

Hope I help smile.gif

i have previously tried the #16 but i have better result using the Gold Class wax....the reason that i thought of trying out the UPW is that most review said that the UPW give a higher gloss and very soft effect compares to the Gold Class....

from what i have read, i thought that the #21 is more on the protection but when it comes to shine, the UPW and Gold Class would be a better choice.....

Should i wax the car then only apply the sealant or sealant first only wax?...from some of the forum that i have read, Wax first then then only seal it with the sealant for a longer lasting shine....

#21 has more protection as its a synthetic sealant. UPW and GC has carnauba content.. the gloss is definitely better.. but if u talk about durability, I think nothing comes close to #16 (Meguiar's line comparison only)...

the widely used method is.. sealant -> wax... but my experience tell me, i really do not see any diff in such layering... back then when i apply nxt2.0.. I like the candy-looking it gives.. however, when i layer with #16.. the effect somehow has go away.. and all it left is pure gloss of carnauba (though #16 doesnt has cleaning properties)

For dark cars, it's recommended to use the gold class.. Looks alot better. Will give the wet look. biggrin.gif

there's no gloss near to those from carnauba.. thts y until now a lot detailer still prefer carnauba.. smile.gif

reason why GC has better gloss on dark color because it DOES contains carnauba inside.. its a hybrid.. smile.gif

if u found that its hard to buff off a wax.. then there's problem with ur application.. try re-do.. smile.gif.. if u do it correctly.. it could be easier than synthetic sealant smile.gif

happy waxin.. smile.gif

Dear all,

Sorry to trouble everyone here, I would like to ask a question. The picture is at the link below (sorry I don't know how to upload photo) -
http://img851.imageshack.us/i/p1120296.jpg/

My question is, is it advisable to use this item to sweep off water from my car after washing?
Will it strip wax?

Thank you so much for your time

Unless u compound ur paint every month.. then it will be thinner.. If u r doin so, then there's problem with ur washin n maintenance technique.

@Zaypher, it wont strip the wax.. however, it would definitely scrap the crap out of ur paint.. I dunno what car u drivin.. as for Perodua Myvi.. the paint is so delicate till even a wrong choice of MF instill swirls on the surface...

I'm driving satria neo. So far i use before, no scrap. Just kinda worried that it may strip wax that's all. Anw, I agree with you that if you're not careful in the sense that there is dirt on your car, car surface will be scratched tongue.gif

I did my silver car via an authorised Mxxxxxxxx detail shop. 3 to 4 layers coated on it but frankly speaking I do not like the outcome. The paint turns 'sandly feel' in less than 2 months. What I do to preserve the smooth surface is coat it up by 'Pxxxx Sxxxx' once or twice a month.

Hi Buddy
thanks for bringing up - 2 issue i would like to clear up here

There is no such myths of 3-4 "layer coat " or 3 or 4 steps
(what ever malaysia car wash / polish centre) claims -
No matter how many layers of waxs, sealant, glass coating & bla bla bla - the 1st layer than counts, as it is the touch base - try applying 58 layer of wax on yr car & check it out in 30 days time, - you would find more contaminants than ever before

worst still - most car polish uses rotary to wax????????? which i cant find in any label of wax- where it specify - best use - rotary at speed 6 & 12 kg of pressure with rapid kung fu strokes to polish wax the car & resulting- buffer trails -

Lets clear this myths once & for all
there are 5 steps towards car detailing, if you were to check out in Meguairs USA forum (in which i was trained , cyberly) - :-

Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle
1st step car WASH - wash with PH balance shampoo

2nd step -CLEAN body preparation work - Claying (to remove outter contaminations)

3rd Paint correction - POLISH , Compounding for heavy correction (removing heavy swirls, holograms - inflicted by previous untrained detailer(car polish centre), minors scratches ...etc) then Polishing it to the gloss, glaze

4th protection - either wax (NXT,M21 or Opt car wax) or coating (eg opticoat)

5thly - maintainance ( a weekly wash & a monthly wax)

allow me to show you

wow - what a reflection - MIRROR SHINING -

oppsssssss...........yes when it is with proper lighting - truth will be reveal

Let me ask you by applying 4-5 or 45 layers coat of hwatever WXX Sxxx Cxxxx
will turn this into mirror shinning

I echo with many of my great sifu - that come before me - preparations , preparations , preparations & only preparations works -

now can we ta da already??????

now you what i did was - onr wash the car

the bigger pic
only 1 layer of OPTI Seal, spray & spread & walk away
OPTIMUM car wax spray & wipe & walk away

...and that not the end

but a dawn of a new world ( a new begining)
I taught & train the owner to care for his car - by a regiment of maitainance

eg - a daily sweeps, weekly mop is far better than once a year spring cleaning -

weekly wash by 3 MF & ONR ( just a 20 mins) a great way to begin this great journey is - a humble car wash, that we does it so often & damages built up over times

monthly wax OCWax ( only 5 minutes for the entire car) - use gentle hands & left to right strokes to minimized - swirls inflicting back to the paint (be careful with paste wax & esp use with dirty or unwashed sponge pads - transference of scratches too)
clay twice a year only

stay tuned for the complete write up soon

Lets rise up & take back our position ( I authorized you...& trust me you dont need any authorized person to handle your car) others does it for $$ but you do it out of your heart PASSIONATELY - at the end of the day every owners is the true car detailers for their car

YOU can make difference today for your car

if you have done a prolong PG sealant - let me know our results? dont be shock

Less is more - refering to the blade you used - as capiche mentioned - even a slight worn off micro fibers (suppose to be soft & tender ) but it can still smear the paint -

Check it out yrself - if you have friend who has a black car & ask him to use the blade for a couples of weeks - ta da will comes out

our actual car paint is coated with clear lacquer - and it is with harsh washing acidic only 2 mil of an inche (divide 1 inche into 1000 part & 2 part is the thickness of yr Clear Coat)
then imagine
what happend when it is constant bombarded detergent la, good morning the terry towel & blade la

given a little bit time - prematurely worn off

My 11 yr old kenari paint still glow & my 2 face paint still rocks - all because i do my own washing & now with ONR it is so effortless - ask those who has tried them........

Walao, KC, Great job again on that mirror shine.

I guess the key is thoroughly preparing the surface for LSP to achieve good results. For final result did you use Instant Detailer?

Hi Buddy'
You too can make a different - start today & stop letting other abusing yr ride
& soon you enjoy this detailing clichéd ...... sit back - enjoy with yr glass of fine wine & admiring the details

LSP is JARGON & HEAVY is just a simple wax, either u patse or spray - i choose OCWAX & in 5 minutes - ta da

ID is a good alternative for OCWax

most of all it is with yr TLC - detailing comes alive
keep up the flame the passion & share some pic with us rclxm9.gif
