Content is king, but it has to be original content. You also must write your content for human consumption first and foremost and then think about spreading your key words throughout the page.

I have found as time goes by that I have to think less about the key words as it becomes part of the way you actually create your content.
I am a bit of a social media hermit with my Twitter account sending minimal traffic to my site (note, website not blog) but I have found that by adding Facebook like buttons to every page on my site I am beginning to get a fair volume of visitors from this source as many different pages are being linked via the Like button.
