- building really good contents for your target audience
- adding share buttons on your site and blog posts (can do so via widgets)
- and yes, get as many backlinks as you can, provided you get the right keywords linking to your site
One example here (ahem)
digital marketing and social marketing links to my blog at social geek stuff
It's a very new blog by the way, any comments are welcomed
Now, instead of just sharing my blog name, I now have a link that's as per the keywords I want to link to my site. that way, if I build enough of this, helps google to recognize my blog that it's "digital marketing and social marketing" related so the next time (in a long long time from now) someone searches digital marketing and social marketing, my site may just appear there on the search page.
I'm not an SEO expert myself so those are the general basic guidelines I know and believe in
As for site submissions, be careful where you submit to, bad quality links from link farms will not help but will make it worse for your SEO. Yes, the top 3 should be fine although I only recommend to do it when you already have at least 50 keyword targeted posts on your blog
No, adding your keywords like 10-15 times or more in one single blog post won't help either, that's called spamming in google's eyes. I think if you search up keyword density you'll know what i mean
