Ruby if you haven't tell me your major yet, how can i tell you how should you prepare for your finance? Besides i need to know whether it is relevant to your course structure as well.

Since you stated its finance introductory which i believe its finance 201....

And since you're in common year...yes you do have to take finance....

How to prepare? Trust me, you better be good at calculation. I find maths easier than finance. The only thing you should note often is the formulas and know the terms like present value and future value. Besides, do take note about interest rates and compounding method.

But to be honest i don;t think you should worry about calculation because once you know how to tackle it, its easy. But when comes to the theory part....now thats its a little bit frustrating for me. I must say, you seriously need passion to understand case studies. You should memorize terms as well.

Luckily you do not need to study advance finance studies....

I think the best way to study case studies and tackle problem questions, is to apply the formulas towards the problems you find inside. But then, your book and mine could be different. But if im you, i will studied the terms more. The terms might confuse you to the 'extreme'. Case studies are another way for you to answer essay problem questions sooner later in the exam.

My advice for you also, you better score well in mid term test....

I don't think the books matter right? Theory and all should more or less be the same.

I think for finance its a must. Besides, economical theories do varies in the finance world.
