previously i was using 8600gt, and used the nvidia driver 169.21 without any problems. in playing games, or anything else.
just recently i changed my gc to 8800gt, and i updated the driver to version 175.19. The weird thing is that the driver only stops working when i play a certain game, which is only Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. Other games i can play for long hours without any problems. i thought it was because of insufficient power, but now i am using 550W true power. only after some time in the game this happens. the graphics looks like kinda corrupted and eventualy it hangs.

one time it happened i manage to see the pop-up message, which says my nv4_disp or something like that has stop working. A quick restart and everything is working fine. i tried reinstall the drivers back to 169.21, it seems to solve the problem, but sometimes may appear again.
any solution to this problem? your help is greatly appreciated

I think there is some bug with the driver. It was causing problems on some of the games I play and my EPU-6 Engine too. There is nothing wrong with your hardware.

so i stick to driver version 169.21? when i use version 175.19 the problem occurs more.

Probably. I'm using 169.21 because of the problem from this driver.

u could try reinstalling the 175.19 drivers again and c if it works now
i'm using the 175.19 driver now on my 8600gt wif no prob so far

perhaps u can try the CD driver comes together with the card? incase problem solve then use 1st lo..

175.19 works well with other games, only this game got some problem. kinda hard to know whether it does work or not, coz this thing is really random, can't expect when it will come out. i only faced this problem again a few days after i reinstall 169.21.

will tryout the driver cd also.

already tried reverting to 169.21. still face the same problem. even the drivers from the driver cd also give the same problem. it comes out sometimes after i play about 2-3 games in pes. could it be hardware also? if really hardware ithen i don't understand, why only this specific game? or maybe drivers for 8800gt are just buggy?

i have no problem with pes2008 on the latest driver with evga 8800gt... OC profile to 680/1700/1000.. hmm.. maybe try installing the game again?

so far have you tried to download their latest MSI driver? yours are MSI 8800gt right?

yes it's MSI. ok..will try to dl new driver from msi. as for reinstalling the game, i have already done that, still have the same problem

Added on August 12, 2008, 11:42 amproblem solved by downclocking the card to 600MHz core and 1800MHz memory. thanks for everyone's help!
